At what point should i give in?
Milo is good in his litter tray in his bed.
He isnsist of peeing on my front room carpet and ,y landing.
Ive desperately tried to clean the carpet with white vinegar, simple solution etc..but to no avail.
even thinking of hiring an supermarket cleaner or buying a carpet cleaner henry!
I have no idea what to do.
Im thinking at what point do i give in and put litter trays in the front room and landing?
Or at what point does he become an outdoor bunster

Daisy has a litter tray with him when he is in the front room and I clear it away when he is not in there. It works a treat and encourages him to eat lots of hay while he is in there too.
I think its your best option. Perhaps when he is used to using it you can move it closer and closer to the door until you can do away with it.

^ sounds good advise!! defo give that a try, maybe use his litter tray from his bed when he's in the lounge so it already has his litter in and therefore knows thats where he should do his business!!

Re: At what point should i give in?
We had this problem with Grace when we moved here although we had a litter tray in the room where her indoor home was she would wee in another room and tbh whatever I used to deter her didn't help in the end I put another litter tray in the room that she was using and touch wood I haven't had a problem with her since. If you do put more litter trays round the house keep a bit of the soiled bedding in the new litter trays so he can smell that it's his toilet and hopefully use them.

I am havin the same issues with Rory, ibhabe 3 litter trays in one room at the moment- it's more him spraying at me than not being sure where to go to the loo... I'm hoping he will get over his disgust at me having a boyfriend and stop spraying me! Lol! Good luck with Milo

Re: At what point should i give in?
I sympathise!!! Thumper only uses her litter tray once in a blue moon. Has done since we moved in June.
I agree with moving the tray/adding more trays. Ive tried it and it hasn't worked for us but hopefully you will have more luck.
Thumper is just a stubborn old lady who likes to keep me on my toes!
Good luck!

Can you restrict his space until he is better trained? Pen off half the living room or similar? Sometimes, too much space & they think its a free for all!

Re: At what point should i give in?
A friend of mine has been having problems with his dog and consulted a Dog Behaviour expert. One of the problems they were having was his aggressiveness when they were out. One of the things she suggested was to limit where he pees outside. Because if you let him pee everywhere, he thinks it is his territory and he has to revisit it to reclaim it. It could be the same is true of bunnies and your Milo is desperately peeing everywhere because the territory is so big he has to constantly reinforce his ownership.

That does all make sense. Sounds awful but i'd never have another indoor boy bunny it'd be a girly all the way!
He's fine downstairs in the hallway and his bed but and kitchen but no-where else.
Our lounge is a real communial area for us hence why we want him in there but we will try that and report back

Re: At what point should i give in?
See I dont think its just cos he is a boy...My Ruby roo had horrendous litter habits, and she was a lil girl...whereas Blanket (my boy) is really good, never drops a poop on my carpet! And I can count the times he has peed on the carpet on one hand...I think some buns genuinely do stuff like pee on the floor for their own amusement, I genuinely do believe that

[b]Ruffin has never realy used anything but her lit trays she quite often gets in the lit tray and pidles over the side but thats cos she has a big ass My first bunn Jake he allways used the lit trays as well so dont think its so much a boy thing. And lets face it Katie's Daisy prob does it just to keep Katie active clearing up his royal poops

Re: At what point should i give in?
Soe people on facebook have suggested making his area smaller but its not like he drops them everywhere or pee's all over its in specific places.
Ive put a tray in the front room and he still pee's in front of it.
Am thinking to order a carpet cleaner and clean thoroughly then use the simple soltuion and then see what happens.
I mean a carpet cleaner is always useful right?

Re: At what point should i give in?
I must admit charlie is great, he is a outside bunny but his house is like ours castle for a bunny lol, he has 2 trays in there and a corner that he uses but cant get a tray in it due to ramp so just clean it regularly. He comes in the house and never ever does anything not even poo, if he needs he starts to get hyper and cheeky, this seems to be an indication he wants to go back in his house, because I have noticed each time he acts like this I go to get him he will lie down and look up at me as if to say ok pick me up, take him out he is right into his tray. If you try to catch him any other time he is like no chance I am having fun. So now I know when he is ready and had enough he does his nutty hyper cheeky routine, lies down looking at me lol its sweet.

Re: At what point should i give in?
I agree with making his area smaller! I had to do that with Buttons. Also do you keep moving the tray to where he keeps weeing? I had to move ours into the middle of the lounge floor for a bit till he realised that was where he needed to do it and now associates his tray with toilet rather one spot!!
I also hid bits of his favourite food in the hay (tiny chunks of carrot, herbs etc) and didn't go near him when in the tray, so he would realise the tray is a good place to be and also it is his own space where he can sit and do his mess without being bothered by humans!!
I hope he starts to grasp it soon!! it took buttons months!!! sadly some of us have stubborn buns, just stick with it and eventually it clicks and the frustration is al worth while!!
