magnum keeps nipping...why?

i'm not sure why he's started doing it but for the last couple of days magnum has started nipping. He climbs up onto my chest licks or sniffs my nose then nips it?? im sure he's trying to tell me something!

seriously why has he started this? he also nips and nibbles at my clothes?! ideas anyone? x x

yeah gizmo used to do this, apparently its affection you gotta shout real loud so he stops as thats how they learn social skills x

When he was under 1 year Bruce used to jump onto the sofa beside me and nip me on the nipple area of the boob!

Sometimes if you have bunnies on your knee for awhile they may nip you and this can be a sign they need the litter tray. Otherwise 'Mum I want a wee'!

spike does this alot,the piggies started to do it yesterday,then i realised,i'd just cut the veg up and they could smell it on my fingers

Radar used to do it a lot before we'd had him done.
To be honest, since he said goodbye to the lads, he's not been as cuddly as he used to be (and he wasn't all the cuddly anyway) that said he'll still happily sit next to you and be stroked for hours & hours.

as far as i can see there are no obvious reasons for it.....i'm not holding or forcing him to sat with me. I'm just laid on the floor, if he comes to me fine if not no problem. I was laid on the floor last night, he jumped on my back was messing with my hair then nipped my ear!

And when he nips my nose he climbs on me, walks up my chest sniffs then nips my nose! I wouldnt mind if i was pestering him, but he's the 1 that comes to me!

He did nip my finger once a few days ago after i had handled carrot so now make a point of always washing my hands, coz it kinda hurt!

I try to limit the amount of time i handle him as he hates it, and im frightened he's gonna do himself damage when i pick him up. So i just settle for a nudge, sniff and stroke when he lets me. But if he thinks he's carrying this nipping business on he's got another thing coming!

Seriously though Emma, it's not nice, but it is a normal behaviour. I'd reccommend letting out a shrill short yelp when he nips you. As buns don't like that kinda noise, he'll hopefully learn that it isn't the thing to do!

Stewie used to do to me a lot when we first had him, it's a kinda uber grooming and possesion thing, if I remember rightly. He also started to pee on the sofa and bed whilst he was doing the nipping thing, so keep an eye out.

Now he just licks my nose and head until it's damp...Bleuughh!

Thumper frequently nips me when she's grooming me. And I know, it can bloody hurt sometimes!!!

She also catches my fingers sometimes when giving her treats!

At least he's not biting you in anger

It's all in the timing Bob! Post herbs - mint etc is ok - post Caecotrophs is deffo not ok!

Well all I can say is thank goodness we don't need to breast feed our bunnies It's bad enough when a well toothed baby bites you on the nipple, nevermind a rabbit with those sharp front teeth!!

Poor Magnum If only he knew what was being said about him...

Snuffie licks me sometimes when being fussed, I like to think it is because he loves me.
