Something on Stewie's foot UD :)

Have just done the monthly nail clipping, and there's something that looks like an adscess at the entry point of nail - foot. It's a bit pink, and raised and swollen, but small, and doesn't seem to be bothering him.

Anyone seen this before - I haven't seen an abscess, but it looks like it's full of fluid or similar. I'll try and get a pic later, but he's already a bit stressed from the clipping.

He's going for VHD on Tuesday, so will see the vet then, but wondered if I should get him seen before..whatcha think?

I'd bathe it with some warm water and cotton wool as he may just have an infection in his nail bed, he may have just caught his nail when running around.

It could be the start of it but try bathing it first Jay .

Yes salt in the water will be fine, keep me posted on how it is and don't forget to take a photo of it

I have to say that if I didn't do TI when I clip his nails, I woudln't have seen this... with it being on his front paw, I only see his back ones for bum checks etc, and this is difficult to see/find.

We are having a nightmare with Jess's feet as her fur is so thick and so much of it round her four feet it just look's as if she has 4 little hug boot's on but it's also difficult to check her nails or make sure everything is ok , I have never seen a coat like she has on a rabbit before!

It's a bit bigger than we thought, I bathed it, shoudl I put sudocrem on it?

Is it on his pad Jay or where the nail goes into his foot ( love Stewies little mowf and teeth showing)

Where the nail goes into the foot, but it's spread a bit bigger around, nit much though.

Mike and I think he may have just caught his nail and maybe bent it back a bit, had it been on the pad we would have said it was a carpet burn. Keep bathing it and unless it start's bleeding or pus comes out of it I wouldn't worry to much.

Thanks He's at the vet next week, so I'll keep bathing it, and then get them to look at it.

Poor Stewie having a sore toe. At least next week you can let the vet see and that will put your mind at rest.

he's not happy at having to be flipped every hour or so. I got a propper smack round the chops earlier

After i thought he'd calmed down, he reared up to lick my nose, like he does a lot, and licked it, then whacked me round the face! I have 3 small scartches on my cheek

I soo had it coming

Get him to bathe them in salt water and put a dab of sudocream on

If that is an abcess on Stewies foot then he will need some anti biotics because of the infection, sending him get well vibes
