Hay cube, anyone have one?
Would you recommend one?
Are they any better at containing the hay than a willow basket is?
Thanks!

Well I have those Alfa Hay bales I give Buttons as a treat every now and then, and they are a bit tidier but they kind of crumble everywhere so you end up with a powdery mess everywhere instead!! Thumper taken to the hay big time then has she?

Re: Hay cube, anyone have one?
Do you mean a mesh rack to put hay in?
We have those in our houses - Humum made them out of mesh cage panels. We still end up with hay on the floor where we pull out the bits we want to eat. I don't know if they would be any less messy than using a basket....

Re: Hay cube, anyone have one?
I find the best way to contain hay is to put it in a big litter tray. If the bun sits on it to eat they are not throwing it all around the place.

She is indeed taking to the oat hay She won't eat those bales though, or the cookies, tried and failed beforelizzi_blackwell3 wrote:Well I have those Alfa Hay bales I give Buttons as a treat every now and then, and they are a bit tidier but they kind of crumble everywhere so you end up with a powdery mess everywhere instead!! Thumper forgot what a litter tray was when we moved house in June she still has them but never goes near them. That is a good idea thoughcheryl'n'bruce'flo wrote:I find the best way to contain hay is to put it in a big litter tray. If the bun sits on it to eat they are not throwing it all around the place.

Re: Hay cube, anyone have one?
oh god I think those metal cubes will spread the mess even more!! I put Button's hay in his willow ball sometimes to give him a challenge and it honestly goes EVERYWHERE!!! if he sniffs a bit he wants he will try digging it out and then when he has grabbed it with his lickle teeth he yanks so hard so he doesn't lose it he tends to pull a mass bulk of hay out with it!!
He now only gets the hay filled ball in his cage! He can make as much mess as he likes in there, but OH goes mad if it's all over the lounge!!
