Braving The Wind! Empty Braving The Wind!

Post by emma.b_90 Thu Dec 08, 2011 4:54 pm

Well its getting to the time of night again where i have to go to work...i love my job. Im a homecarer for the elderly, but i dont have a car. So far i have been doing my round on the my bike but i fear the wind is to strong for that tonight. So i'm gonna have to attempt to walk it, not looking forward to it.

Hat=check, scarf=check, wellies=check, torch=check.....off i go, wish me luck, still at least i know magnum is safe. Leaving him sprawled out at the double doors watching leaves and whaat not fly past the window! Shocked Laughing

Good luck!

My mum-in-law has home carers in, and I know how hard you all work, and on a bike. You crazy!!! Wink

Home carers are getting alot of stress now, they are meant to take care of some folks n 20 mins, yet it can take 20 mins just to get started never mind finish, they dont get petrol money really so if you did take a car it would be at your own cost so would be very draining on your wages.

yep sometimes we are pushed for time. But if your pushed for time and not getting the call done properly then the care managers need to be informed and the clients care needs to be changed to suit. I know this sometimes cant be done especially if the client pays for there own care, as it can be expensive, its kind of a catch 22. I tend to have the out look of i'll get finished when i get finished if the call is for 30 mins but takes 40 then so be it.

I know at the min homecare workers are getting a lot of publicity in regards to the level of care they give, i tend not to read it tho as it makes me mad.
