what do you prefer on floor
I cleaned out charlie this morning, I have a bag of totally rubbish hay from pets at home, so instead of using wood shavings I emptied that all over floor lol not feeding him it at its far to small pieces not going to do anything for his teeth, I am changing to straw from the farm when all the shavings and bags are finished, do you think this is a better option instead of wood shavings anyway.

Deffo! Wood shavings can irritate the respitory system in buns (and me!) and straw is a great insulator.

Straw is good except if you have one of the rare bunns that happen to like straw and are preferring it instead of hay.

Re: what do you prefer on floor
Going to teh farm to get a bail of straw when the bags run out, also have a big bail off hay so might put that under the straw as extra depth, I have used it on the cages 1 end is full with straw and hay and a chew tube has been pushed into the bundle creating a burrow like space and they seem to like this, wont last long they are getting fat and wont fit in the tube much longer, I decided time to bring the wee ones into the house and run about the livingroom with them, till the run is built. bloody weather.
