4 paws down, 4 to go! Empty 4 paws down, 4 to go!

Post by Dotdot Thu Dec 29, 2011 7:40 pm

Me and the OH did a claw trim today, well 4 out of 8 paws isn't bad going. He did the holding, I did the cutting.

Jeeves was a sweetheart, he laid on his back perfectly and was happy to be burrito'd. There was no wriggling or struggling and it was over with for him quickly.

Tigger however, was a struggle. We tried three times to lay her on her back but she continually struggled and kicked so we stopped before she could do herself any damage. She didn't calm on her back, she only wanted to get up and away and covering her eyes does not calm her at all. She even nibbled at my arm and then went and bit on my OH's arm leaving a red mark through his coat.

She is the sweetest thing at the vets... lets me pick her up and put her on her back, but she is not having it in her territory.

She made me feel quite guilty actually! She breathes so hard as she wriggles she lets out this little huffing sound.

I was getting very wriggly having my injections, so the Hu-parents took me to one of the few rooms I'm not allowed in - I was a *bit* calmer then...

Yeah I gave that a read Maysie, and the video on the youtube channel. She won't settle whichever way I hold her, and the only reason I know I'm doing it right is;
a. Jeeves is fine when I do it
and b. she's fine when I do it at the vets.

Definitely going to give it a go in another room Sparky... when she's forgiven me.
