Hello from Velvet Bunny's Animal Rescue
Hi all, my name is Kim and I run a small but very bust Animal Rescue Organisation from my home in Dudley, West Midlands.
I originally begam by fostering bunnies for the RSPCA but found the experience somewhat lacking and I wanted to do more.
At present we have a 100% success rate for rehomings. In the latter months of 2011 we found lovely homes for 4 bunns, Bella, Betsy, Lola and Jenny Bun and we have rehomed one so far this year (Wills) with another reserved.
In September 2011, I took in ym first foster Cat, who found his forever home with us. I fostered a Kitty, called Mickey who we rehomed in December and we took in the very poorly little Angel, who had been badly injured on Boxing Day.
I am thrilled that we have been able to get the support to set up Velvet Bunny's Rescue, we are strictly non profit and can only operate with the support of others.
The true sadness that surrounds my work is that for every bunny I can take in, I have to turn away 10. Bunnies are so undervalued and in my opinion, get the very raw end of the deal where pets are concerned. However, I try my best and Velvet Bunnys continues to get stronger day by day!
Look forward to chatting with you all on the forum!
Kim

Re: Hello from Velvet Bunny's Animal Rescue
Thank you! Hi all!
I guess "Velvet" is a bit of a common concept applied to bunnies. My rex's are where our name from. The Velvet Bunny's Rescue was named after my Bunny Girl who headed off to Rainbow Bridge in June. I hope she knows the legacy that grew in her name!!
Re: Hello from Velvet Bunny's Animal Rescue
I've just noticed that I've described my Rescue as small but "Bust" Doh!!!

I'm sure you will, I shouldn't have favourites in this line of 'work' but I will always have a soft spot for Rex's! I'm glad we haven't had many coming through the rescue so far, only one in fact and he became a permanent resident......!!! Soooooo hard not to love them all.........
