fed up waiting so started myself

I am knackered, I have just built 1 side of the frame for charlies run, not giving him as big as wanted incase he cant mix with the other 2, so making him his own for now. I need 4 inch nails and more wood to complete all sides, cut the wood for the other side and the top but need more to hold frame together and make the door. Hubby says oh mrs bob builder rate your going you will have it built yourself. Least it be done lol. Might not look good Im no joiner infact failed at wood work but then again its a bedside cabinet they have you making so not as easy as a frame lol.

lol you will laugh, will take pics when its done, it will be a mess as I have never done this sort of thing since school lol.

Good on you, my first runs were a bit rough around the edges shall we say, but the more you build them, the better you get. The worst part is the mesh, all that wire cutting and trying to lay it straight, holding it down whilst trying to nail it down. I'm defo no joiner either but the buns appreciate it, and so will yours. Wouldlove to see photos when completed, I love DIY piccys.

I HATE the mesh too, might need to buy more, had to steal some for the rats cage, not that it worked, saved it tho took it off will do a section on the door. I have a staple gun so will use that instead of the u clips. or at least a few to hold it in place then the u nails on the rest.

I am an appalling DIYer when it comes to hutches etc. I certainly won't be laughing at your finished product.

I will probs be like that, would like to extend it, build it round the garden but in such a way I can get the bucket out etc. lol

Steel angle and corner brackets a lot cheaper at Screwfix online

I couldnt find them online, will have another looks, found them on diy.com which is b&q, I prefer there prices, they have the silver insulations thats where I get it, hubby is agreeing, we need to take charlies panels back off, and add that foil over the stuff we used. The wee buns hut is warmer than his and its only half finished.

Also could be his window, its not fixed, can open and close it but its not a tight fit so there is deffo gaps. where as the wee ones are fixed windows and I put the unsulationg all the way round them overlapping about an inch in most areas so no draft is getting in even there.

Well had to search for the brackets, screwfix only do zinc, which will peel off in the outside weather, so had to go to an ironmonger and get galvinised brackets, good thing was they were only 25p each. So not so bad. Having my cupa tea then start drilling the frames Ive made up so far, hubby is leaving me to it, lazy begger aint he

1 side made, brackets pulled it into shape, the mesh is holding it firm, having to over lap the mesh tho and pull it as tight as possible so the over lap wont let them through, might have to get some wire and coil it round the over laps so they dont get out, or get some 1 x 2 and put it behind the overlaps. My hips are killing me, will do the next side tomorow of I can move.

I stab myself with the needle lol miss the button n get my finger everytime, I will give anything a bash, usually fail greatly lol, unless its card making or jewellary making.

My mother was excellent at sewing and knitting, unfortunately she didn;t pass the skill onto me LOL!!
