Just acquired another bun - PICS UD Pg 5

She was dumped on the site of an old tip, with a load of guinea pigs. We think there are still some rabbits and guinea pigs there, but one of the vet nurses and a dog walker managed to catch 15 of the piggies and one of the buns. Shes a little magpie bun, not sure what breed but her ears are out of control! We have no idea how old she could be either, how can you estimate a buns age?

She was quite lethargic when she went in yesterday and is full of fleas, but shes eating well now and her poos are looking better. Shes currently settling in to the playhouse. Im just warming up some snuggle safes and im going to take a few pellets and some herbs out for her. I dont know what shes been though, but she seems a very sweet little thing. The plan is to rehome her, as i have to think of my own bunnies first, but i really think im going to get attached to this cutie.

She had her myxi today and will be going back for her VHD in a couple of weeks. Im just wondering, given where she came from, is it sensible to give her a course of panacur?

We give new rescue buns a course of Panacur for 30 days, just to be on the safe side, sometimes we will Panacur them twice a year.

I agree with Maysie.

Yes i'd give her some panacur too just in case. And, piccieees!!!

Thank you Maysie I dont have a worming programme for my own buns as i dont think its necessary and i worry about any worms or EC being resistant should they every have need for it. I think its a good idea in this case, but just wanted to check. Shes every so pretty Maysie

DONT say that!!! The number of people that have said i bet she stays is unreal. She hasnt been here a day yet! As much as id love to keep her, i dont think i have the balls to bond a quad. I dont think the playhouse and run is big enough for 4 buns either. Plus, what happens when i go to uni? My parents arent happy about looking after the trio as it is, and i know they wont care for them like i do or notice when theyre ill (because whenever they have been my parents have insisted that theyre fine and dont need to see a vet!). Im hoping i can take them with me because there is an animal unit there, but if i cant, im going to struggle to find them a foster placement and i couldnt rehome them. A member on here has offered, but im not sure if this person has space anymore.

If you mean us Sophia we still go by what we said we will Foster them for you no problems

Aww thank you! It really means a lot. Still, i cant keep little Maggie Magpie. Its only fair that she goes to a loving home with just one husbun where she doesnt have to share the attention Im being a shellfish if i keep her, i said no more buns so ill stick by it.

Shes great today Hopping around the playhouse quite confidently this morning. Its when it starts to get dark she becomes nervous of me, i guess its hard being in a new environment and not being able to see as well in the dark. Ive had a lot of people asking about her, and someone who wants her, but im really not sure about this person. Shes asked for advice in the past and not taken it, her bun is still not spayed either and looks to be massively overweight, which imo is borderline neglect. Is this good enough grounds to say no? Shes not going anywhere yet anyway. Ive got some pictures now too...

If I am still well in a few weeks I'll be going in for that op, then Humum was going to look for a husbun for me. I don't mind a wifebun though, I am a very modern girl

Sparky ive just seen your siggy!!

Her interest was a bit too impulsive for my liking anyway, ive put her off for now by saying that it will be a while and that she will have to have a home check etc etc etc and will contact her when shes ready to see if shes still interested. If shes still interested then ill cross that bridge when we get to it. Besides, i dont think her rabbit will get on with Maggie. She seems very aggressive *cough* needs *cough * spaying *cough* - but what would i know about that?

The pair of you will have to fight for her Your very welcome to come visit her!!
