He has spent the morning burying peanuts and worked really hard at it and then off he went and of course all the blackbirds are now eating all the peanuts that he worked so hard at burying Smile

Yes all the time and he has his own squirrel peanut holder that he can lift the lid on and help himself, they are made for squirrels.

Maysie, Although your squirrel will LOVE peanuts, fill the squirrel feeder with a mix of peanuts, wild bird seed, maize, dried mealworms and dried fruit (sultana etc), just to give a varied diet.

He has dried mealworms, and sunflower hearts which he loves and wild bird seed but I will get him some dried fruit.

Do you know if Squirrels can eat Hedgehog food Jan as I've 4 big packets of hedgehog food that needs eating up as I think Henrietta the hedgehog is hibernating as I haven't seen her since well before Christmas. (I hope she is anyway)

What is in the hedgehog food? I tend to mix up my own, and don't use the shop bought food very often. I don't think there is anything in it that a squirrel won't eat.

Dried bananas, kibbled peanuts, raisins and pellet's that I don't think the Squirrel can eat as they are a meat based pellet.

I may give it to the Rooks and Crows as I have noticed the bags have run out in October 2011 ( it's the Chapelwood hedgehog food)

It sounds good for the squirrel (or for crows, rooks, magpies, blackbirds, thrushes....) Meat-based kibble is fine for them. Stephen loves dog bickies, and the occasional dried shrimp.
