So today is baby sexing day pale and I'm thinking a million thoughts at once Laughing

I called Thumper's vet yesterday and asked them at what age they will neuter a boy bun and spay a girl bun.

They said 16 week for a girl, which I've heard before so I'm happy enough with that. I've no experience with boy buns. They've said 12 weeks, would y'all agree?

Thanks.

Yeah, 12 weeks is about right for a boy. They can be done earlier, if plums have appeared sooner.
16 weeks for a girl is slightly contentious, but by no means wrong, but a lot of vets won't spey until 20 weeks. It's a big op on such a young body.

My vet does girls at 16 weeks as long as they weigh 1kg. Florence was done at 16 or 17 weeks. I had a chat with Dougals rescue about it, and apparently its a new recommendation as its been proven younger bunnies recover better and more easily from it.

Hope bunny sexing day goes the way you want it to Smile

Thanks guys. I'm soooooo terrified I'm going to end up with babies with babies Sad I think it might be better all round if I take two girls, if any. I'm not sure I can take the stress Laughing

A simple wire panel can work to keep the sibling bond whilst stopping babies until the neutering is done.
