P@H and neutering
Humum has been in P@H today -she goes most weeks to check on the hay and water and that all the buns look well
She also always checks out who is in the adoption centre, and was pleased to see today that they have signs up saying that when you adopt a bun from them, they give you a £60 voucher towards neutering costs at the local Companion Care vets. The sign also listed the benefits of getting rabbits neutered
We know that often the 'rescue' buns in the adoption centre are unsold stock and not true rescues at all, but this is a positive step for them.
She had an 'accidental' cuddle with a little blue-eyed white lop boy who is apparently in there because he is allergic to the wood-shavings which they should not use for buns anyway She did resist putting him on hold for 24 hours....

She resisted...... oh what a shame....
It is a good step in the right direction, Still far to go, but I think that they are trying.

Re: P@H and neutering
Well humum hasn't sneaked out. Boooooooooooo!
But hudad went off the radar for about half an hour
He's also phoning Travis Perkins in the morning to get some sheet materials added to his delivery tomorrow
He's adopting these two
When he went in there was, in politer terms than his words, a rough looking family with two young children looking at them. The assistant had already taken them from the cage and the children were being less than gentle with two young and frightened buns, prodding and poking. The parents did nothing to stop it! As soon as they had gone off to look at the For Sale buns, hudad made his move and swooped them up. He couldn't let them go to a home like that
He's hutch building tomorrow and picking them up at about 4pm.
The staff say they are about 15-16 weeks but they are quite small so hudad is sure they are only about 10-12 weeks tops. They are apparently both boys but hudad isn't 100% convinced. We'll see.......

Re: P@H and neutering
Humum was quite concerned that when she looked at them, the assistant insisted that they had to go together - although it is good that they are rehoming in pairs, there was no mention of the fact that they are both boys and there could be problems during adolescence or that any provision should be made for separating them.
They're getting a hutch just outside the kitchen door for now, so they can be kept a close eye on. It will be two-tier so if needs be they can be split up and have a tier each. Humum is very doubtful about boys staying together but will just see how they get on.
They'll go into the vet on Tuesday to be vaccinated and make sure of their genders, and to get the vets opinion on their age.
We need names.....

Re: P@H and neutering
When I opened this thread, this is not what I was expecting
But
Is the white one the same one that Sparky's humum had a cuddle with?

I don't know why but when looking at the white lop 'Percy' presented itself as a name. I swear I was trying to think of something that went with waffles!

Re: P@H and neutering
I suck at the name game!!
However... I remember when OH and I were trying to come up with a name for Junior, a lot of you wanted me to keep his SSPCA name, which was Horatio... I didn't like it, but I know a lot of you did.
So, there's my contribution

Re: P@H and neutering
Humum is trying to think of a fairly gender-neutral name, just in case...
Shame she didn't consider that two years ago, when she named Graham at three weeks old because she was "the grey 'un"

Re: P@H and neutering
You should give him a girls name to even things up How about 'Sue' after the Johnny Cash song or 'Shirley' like Big Daddy?

Re: P@H and neutering
I am so glad you have given them a home love. It really annoys me that children are allowed to treat animals in such a way. I think some parents, when to comes to their children and pets, are on planet zog!!! I do worry about the little buns we dont know of and I am continually saying prayers.
