Oscar... my special boy
This morning the thing I have dreaded most for a long time had happened. My most treasured boy Oscar had gone to the Rainbow Bridge.
He had a tummy ache last night so I had given him some pain relief. I got up to check on him a couple of times in the night and he seemed to be ok - but when we got up at 6 this morning he had gone.
Oscar was such a special boy. I had a bond with him like I have never had with any other bun before, he was one of a kind.
I miss him dreadfully already.

Re: Oscar... my special boy
I have only ever met two bunnies with a personality like Oscars in all the years i did boarding, he would always have a play and he genuinely loved human company. I used to take him into the conservatory for 1 on 1 time because he just got so excited everytime you walked by you just couldnt leave him.
The sad thing is, that someone else got so many years of Oscar before Tracey, and they wasted his good personality, and didn't appreciate him. But luckily he had a very good 18 months and I am glad that he got that because it means that there is someone to miss him, there is someone who loved him. So many bunnies end up with nobody to care when they are gone and it so easily could have been Oscar.
It sounds cheesy but it was like fate, fate how he ended up even with Tracey in the first place, and then fate that I happened to know his perfect wifey bun.
I am so sorry he has gone, I have actually had a few tears writing this - but I am glad he found his way to you. x

Re: Oscar... my special boy
Thank you to you all for your kind words and support.
We all know by now what it is to lose a much loved bun and it is never easy.
Sarah Jane - thank you for your lovely words, I am so glad that you got to spend time with Oscar. I never worried about leaving him when he was with you as I know that he got as much love from you and your mum as he got from me.
I do feel lucky that I got to spend the time I did with Oscar, as Sarah Jane says, it's almost like fate that he ended up with us. He has had so many health problems over the last 18 months and I think his little body just couldn't take any more.
I feel I have failed him and that there was maybe more I could have done but I know that we all feel like that when we lose a bun.
It's such a comfort to be able to come onto the forum and feel so much love and support, thank you.

I didn't know Oscar, but from what everyone has said it sounds as though there is no way you have failed him, but instead gave him a wonderful life and loved him. You showed him kindness and the love every bun deserves in the time you had with him. He sounds like such a special boy, binky free little one x x
