Another rabbit coming to me
Well it looks like I have another rabbit on its way to me. A friend has seen a small lop rabbit that looks ill in Notcutts. She has spoken to a member of staff who practically begged her to take the poor rabbit. Apparently the member of staff is sick and tired that they sell rabbits and has started to make things difficult for the company by running the costs up so that selling rabbits becomes unprofitable.
This poor rabbit seems to have overheated in the store. My friend is taking it to my vets and then dropping it at mine in the spare hutch and run.
I can see in a few years time that I will become a mini rescue! The spare hutch I have was left over from the bonding and I keep meaning to get rid of it but as of yet there hasn't been a week when a poor rabbit doesn't need help!

Re: Another rabbit coming to me
Dylan is happily deplummed and at my sisters now in his lovely shed So I have room at least.
No news yet as to whether this is a boy/girl or age or condition etc. Have to wait I guess.

Re: Another rabbit coming to me
its madness! In the past few weeks I have found a brown and white lop running free in a field that I took to the Blue Cross, I've have the 6 Frenchies, Dylan came to me through my bosses friend of a friend who was going to destroy him!, and now this little bunny. I think because my friends all know how passionately I feel about neglect they are all on the look out

Re: Another rabbit coming to me
Take it as a compliment...you must come across as a very caring person
I might have a bunny coming my way soon. He was rescued from being PTS because his owner didn't want to treat a kidney infection. He's not out of the woods yet, but things are looking hopeful

Re: Another rabbit coming to me
Oh good luck with him, poor mite!
I have just spoken to my other half about the bun and he said she is gorgeous. She is a very light brown/gingery colour and is an upeared not a lop! (stupid friend )
Vet said all is fine and confirmed she is a female. I've never had a female before! I can't wait to go home!

Re: Another rabbit coming to me
Good for you Kay, how exciting.
I hope little girlie is OK. I must have missed out on Dylan moving to your sister, he is one of my fave bunnies. Were there probs with Dylan and Arthur - or did your sister fall for Dylan too. Hope I am not being too nosey.
Vanessa xx

Re: Another rabbit coming to me
Hiya Vanessa! It was a hard decision to make about Dylan, but if you remember he came to me unexpectedly and I never really wanted to have 2 boys. It looked like he and Arthur would get on once he was deplummed but he started to get agressive towards Arthur and as Arthur is a little sensitive it was stressing him.
My sister adores Dylan and had recently lost her bun and asked whether I'd mind if she took him on and got him bonded with a girl bun. This seemed the best idea as Arthur could have a bunny wife too. Anyway Dylan is now happily living at my sisters house in total luxury big shed and lovely garden and best of all I get to see him every week

Re: Another rabbit coming to me
Thanks for bringing me up to date Kay.
It sounds as though Dylan has found himself a perfect home. What a lucky boy to have found his way to you in the first place. Remember me to him and say hi to Arthur too
Am looking forward to some piccies if your latest arrival,
Vanessa xx

Re: Another rabbit coming to me
awww bless you I will. I will ask my sister to get some photos of him too!
Arthur is doing really well and calmed down so much, he even licked me last night! The honour of a once nervous aggressive rabbit doing that is amazing and I wanted to cry with happiness. Its been a long journey with Arthur and I've not even had him a year yet

Re: Another rabbit coming to me
OMG she is gorgeous!!! Photos tonight I hope, I tried last night but photobucket wouldn't connect.
Does anyone have any advice about bonding her with Arthur? I have their hutches and runs right next to each other and she was grooming Arthur through the bars He is a real softie now and totally flopped out and was grinding his teeth as she groomed him. I am worried though not about aggression as I 100% believe that Arthur is calm now but I am worried about him humping her (he is neutered) but will the humping ever calm down?
She is 8 weeks old. Thank you

Re: Another rabbit coming to me
Yes it will I am sure. BJ was a humping nightmare when he was first bonded with Rosie but it soon died down and now I hardly ever see humping with any of our three pairs.
It is lovely to hear that Arthur has mellowed, I know how rewarding it is to see a 'reformed' bunny. Well done for not giving up on him
