Where to get sheds/playhouses from on a budget?
Hi everyone
I've hoping to keep outdoor buns in the near future so I'm planning housing already. I want something about 6ft and then attach a run to it. I've read on here a few times that it's much better value for money to buy a shed/playhouse rather than a hutch but I don't see that.
My budget is £200 and I cannot find any sheds or playhouses that are 6ft for less than that and then of course I'd need the run and a cat flap to attach the run and a lot of customising to be done whereas I've seen 6ft hutches for around the £150 mark and I could get a big run for £50.
Can someone please point me in the right direction? I'd much rather a shed or something than a hutch if money will allow. Thank you

eBay
We got ours from there just a couple of months ago. It's 8' x 6' and was definitely under £200. OH is a joiner and he's more than happy with the quality and it took no time at all to build. Quick delivery too
Eta, ours is for general garden use and not for buns. I have no idea about its suitability for buns

I got my shed which is 6 x 4 foot for £90 a few years ago, if you visit DIY stores and look in their clearance sections you can get some right bargains, ours was missing the plastic window - fine because I did mesh there anyway, and also a bt of baton was broken, but that took all of ten minutes to fit a new one. x

Thanks everyone. Im looking at garden buildings direct now. I did look online at b&q but couldn't find any that price but I'll look again. I think a bit more digging around is needed.

What ever you settle with make sure you insulate it for the winter, the best stuff I find is the silver bubble wrap type stuff its about £10 a roll but worth it, and easy to secure in behind the liner boards.

Re: Where to get sheds/playhouses from on a budget?
Thank you. I did find one and was ready to order but then after reading an older post in this forum I realised not to get an overlap shed because tw inside would need to be boarded up and it was one of them that I was goin to get. So now I'm back to square one as the overlap ones are cheaper.
I think I'll just go for a standard hutch or save for longer and try and increase my budget. Thanks everyone x

If they are going to live out then ideally the hutch will need insulating and lining as well. You can get covers for them but they are quite expensive as well.
Have you checked out places like freecycle or preloved? You can pick up some quite decent quality second hand sheds.

I've managed to find one this morning! It is overlap but I have lots of spare wood I'd totally forgotten about so I can line the inside which will insulate it as well. I'm happy now!
Re: Where to get sheds/playhouses from on a budget?
We got an overlap shed from jewson which was about 125, we then brought insulation for a fiver and then the inside boarding was about £15. We made a flap into the run with some wood we already had and put Lino down that we already had an offcut of. We them got a run for 60 from eBay. So cost us ust over 200 but not much! They have a cardboard box stuffed with hay that they love to sleep in and a couple of litter trays.
It's so much nicer than a hutch cos all I have to Sweep out the shed and change the trays each morning. They love it and it's very easy for me too!

Re: Where to get sheds/playhouses from on a budget?
Oooo yea I have Charlie and Annabelle now too!
I wasn't planning on getting more buns but I fell in love with them when I was volunteering at the rescue at christmas. They are outdoor buns and I'm head over heels with them! Unfortunately my Charlie is on borrowed time due to some nasty teeth roots but we are making the most of every second of him x
