Buddy pigture added

Pip's gone away for a weekend break to be bonded at a foster carer's with a young boar Hopefully they will get along. The bonus is, if at any point they fall out the foster carer with take the young one back, so I have nothing to lose, and Pip has everything to gain.

His little friend will be called Buddy

Bonding vibes for Pip

Had a quick text saying that there was a bit of teeth chattering at first, but they are both laid down next to each other and Buddy has been popcorning loads!

Buddy is white, ginger and a darkish agouti/reddish/blackish colour. He is soooooooooooooo cute! Massive head and feet cos he is only 10 weeks old. I can't wait to bring him home. Pip will have some guinea company and some one to chat with.

Not sure if they will go in with the buns tbh, I have a set up that is suitable for 2 pigs but with the buns they have much more room and the buns are fine with Pip. I realise it's not best practice to keep them together but sometimes these things can work if done with thought. I'll see how it all goes.

Well, Buddy is home with Pip! They spent some time together in the play house on their own to seetle in and I took the buns out and put them on the grass. All seems well. Next step was introducing Buddy to the buns. They weren't bothered by him at all, he looked a little bemused and had a nibble on Boo's tail, Boo didn't notice!

He is quite small compared to the buns, so tomorrow I am going to make a little nest box that only he and Pip can fit in to, so he can get away from the buns if he wants to.

The buns spend a lot of time in their run and Pip likes to hide in the nest box I built for them all, so there is plenty of room for them, it's not like they are shut in a 5 ft hutch 24/7 (in which case I wouldn't mix them together).

I went to feed them and I could hear Pip and Bud talking to each other I can't tell you how overjoyed I am that Pip has become an uncle pig to a baby, and that he won't spend the rest of his life on his own. It's such a lovely feeling when you do the right thing for your pets

I will post photos tomorrow, I need to check that Buddy can't squeeze through the gaps in the trixie run which I keep on the lawn, once I know he is ok, I'll photo them all together on lawn mowing duty!
