Rhia U/D Mon Pg 9!!

Could we please have thoughts, vibes, whatever we can muster for Rhia

We thought that if we got her through the night, she'd stand a better chance. This morning, Im not so sure. Ive had no sleep, Im sat at work in absolute despair. I cant do anything for her. Someone is with her though. I am going to go & take her back to the vets soon.

We've known something was underlying since last time she was so ill a month ago, but cant find what. We were at the vets at midnight last night. Im not sure this time that she is going to do this.

I'm sorry to hear Rhia is so unwell

They admitted her this morning, Shes on a drip & are repeating abdominal Xrays. We have to know what is causing this to treat it, but she is too ill for further tests. He agreed for me to take over nursing her once I finished work. I just need her to show some sign that she will pull through. Her spark has gone.

She has seen the vet again this morning. This is day three of not eating. She is more alert, which is positive. Still just wants to sleep but there has been a couple of times that she has sat up, so Im a bit happier. Back at the vets in the morning. Am about to post some photos of her...'out - goings', for anyone interested. Discusting but interesting all the same!

What treatment is she on, Becki?

Her poos look very dry, and due to the length I would suspect very slow gut motility.

What have they done so far to try to diagnose her - scans, x-rays etc?

Shes had constant pain relief, gut motility, sub cut fluids, since Thursday night, and I have something else to get her guts moving too - cant remember the name but will update when I use it & read the bottle. I think thats everything but could've missed something - I have an awful headache because im stressed!

Shes had scans, bloods, then they did repeat abdominal xrays y/day - all nothing. And as she is, we cant put her under ga for anything further. Although what we can do further to diagnose, we arent sure either. They are talking about opening her up if she pulls through but Im not in a million years going to let them do that.

ETA When I say constant, she has been kept completely dosed up since Thurs. As soon as she can have more of everything, she does.

The not eating and the shape of her poos would lead me to suspect slow gut motility, but it is odd if the meds aren't having an effect and there is no blockage or any other problem showing up on the x-rays

I don't know how good your vet is, but have you considered asking them to consult a 'proper' rabbit specialist?
