Snugglesafe questions.
Hi all,
Have you used a Snugglesafe?
Can I leave it unattended with my bunny in her cage overnight?
Do you have a bunny that chewed through it?
What is it made of?
Does it really stay heated for 12 hours?!
I have one coming and have so many questions!

Re: Snugglesafe questions.
1. Yes
2. Yes
3. Nope. Peed on frequently, but never chewed
4. I have no idea
5. I've never actually clock watched but Thumper's was always still warm in the morning
She really didn't like it in the beginning, but she grew to like it.
Hope this helps!

Re: Snugglesafe questions.
Awesome, thank you!
I was worried about leaving it with Willow but I feel better now!
It arrived today but we missed the delivery man so it's waiting at the post office.
It's been chilly so I'll pop it in for her tomorrow night.
In saying that, I'm not sure she'll use it - I checked up on her at about 11pm last night and her ears were so warm! So she mustn't have felt the cold much!

Re: Snugglesafe questions.
She is peeing on EVERYTHING at the moment.
Hasn't quite chosen her 'spot' yet but I'm attempting toilet training. She's even weeing IN her food bowls.. and her bed.. and on her hay.. and on her towel.. and on her mat.. and in her tunnel.. and on the floor.

Re: Snugglesafe questions.
It's a pain isn't it?
I'm hoping my two are starting to come out of that phase now, there are less and less stray pees on my rug!! Fed up cleaning the damned thing. It must be highly flammable with the amount of carpet cleaner I've sprayed on it the last few months
I can't wait until I'm satisfied they've stopped it so I can throw it out and get a new one
I hope Willow catches on quick. Peeing in the food bowl is just wrong

Re: Snugglesafe questions.
I know! Why oh whyyyy!
Just imagine the rug at the end of the rainbow.
I tried to explain to her this morning that her bed will be so much more comfy without the puddle of pee in the middle and that her pellets will be SO yummy! But she didn't listen.
Poop in the litter tray? YES. Eeeeeasy. Pee in there? No way! She pees where she wants!

I can't get my two to poop in the tray when they're free ranging It's driving me mad!!! Poor everywhere!!! Some days they're good in their pen, some days they're not!!
They just don't seem to get it!
You are doing well getting her to poop in the tray already

Re: Snugglesafe questions.
What do you do beside offer them a litter tray?
I'm sure it was one of the girls at work who explained this to me (I work for the RSPCA).. I popped Willow's food into two small bowls and placed them inside the litter tray, so she's forced to get in there to eat. So while she's eating, she's doing her business in the tray. Slowly I move the food away from the tray, but, in theory, she should continue to go back there to pee and poop. Worked a treat for Harley, and he was toilet trained by 7 weeks old. Fingers crossed! It's working for the poop so far!

Re: Snugglesafe questions.
Wow! 7 weeks? That's impressive!!!
All their hay goes in the tray.
I've tried dropping treats in the tray every now and again.
I've always picked their poop up and put it in the tray.
I've tried saying "no" when they poop everywhere.
Nothing works and it's like they're constantly pooping!
I can't train them to run upstairs to the pen when I say "bedtime", yet I can't get them to poop in the litter tray

Re: Snugglesafe questions.
I think Harley was the cleanest rabbit to ever live. I used to get up really early, let him out of his 'night time' cage and he would hop in bed with me and sleep for a couple of hours. When we got up, he'd sprint back to the cage and do his business in his litter tray then go back to my bed!
He was amazing.
But.. I imagine my bed will become Willow's favourite pee spot when I let her in.
I saw that wall pee extravaganza, your two are having a laugh!

Re: Snugglesafe questions.
Aww!!! Bless him!! That is so sweet He really was a little star
Eek, I think you might be right about Willow peeing on your bed. I'd give that idea a miss for a long while yet
I know, they're little horrors!! That's the only time they've done that thankfully! BUT that's the last stray pee I've seen! So fingers crossed that was one last really cheeky one, and it's all going to go in the tray from now on. (Wishful thinking!!!)
They are so much better when they're locked in the pen

Re: Snugglesafe questions.
Snuffles used to be very good but as he is getting older, he has trouble keeping his little wee-wees in one place. I just change my bed everyday and have water proof everything.
