Free ranging rabbits.
Forget the chewed skirting boards, forget the widdled on carpets, the true down side to having rabbits free ranging around the house is that sometimes they get under your feet and accidents happen
Junior came flying out of the back of one of our sofas this morning, aiming for the back of the other one, just as I was talking towards the kitchen. As bad luck would have it, I kicked him. Proper kicked him Thankfully, I never had shoes on.
He crawled down the back of the sofa and hid there, while I was at the other end freaking out, trying to persuade him to come out. He was not coming out Just as I was going to get treats to coax him out Molly went down and got him out.
He seems fine. I thought for a while, with him being so sensitive, that we'd seen the last of his running around for a while but half an hour later he was at it again.
I feel so bad I'm so sorry little boy, I really didn't mean it

Re: Free ranging rabbits.
They are VERY good at getting underfoot, aren't they? Try not to feel too bad. He's ok, and like you say, you didn't mean to!
Re: Free ranging rabbits.
Send Junior a hug, I hope and am sure he will be ok
This happened with Barney once, I accidently sat on him I'd just lowered myself onto the floor to give him some brocolli and I felt something underneath me - at first I didn't click who it was. When I did I was panicking like anything
Luckily he was ok, but these things easily happen with house buns.

Re: Free ranging rabbits.
My dogs do that all the time, and years ago my cat fluffy kept doing it too, once he was licking my heel, which I had no clue he was doing, I stepped back and heard a weird muffled meow, looking around confused wondered where on earth it was coming from, till looked down, theres fluffy looking up at me frantic, I was standing with all my weight on his tongue, the poor things tongue was never the same again, it hung out his mouth constantly.

Re: Free ranging rabbits.
Don't worry too much - bunnies bounce quite well.
When I was all hormonal pre-spay I was constantly circling people's feet and got launched across the room on numerous occasions. Humum developed a 'nervous walk' where she didn't fling her feet forward so much as swing them smoothly, so when I was caught on the end of one I didn't get a firm kick but got scooped up and launched a few feet
As soon as my paws touched down, I'd be back under her feet

Re: Free ranging rabbits.
Can confirm that. Sasha often shoots out under my feet (usually when I come out of the kitchen as she wants to check if I have a treat). I do the zombie walk too so I don't thump her.
Dave was always getting kicked because he wouldn't leave you alone!

Re: Free ranging rabbits.
Thanks guys.
It was horrible. He just came out of nowhere! I'm sure he would say the same about me if he could! I had tears streaming down my face because I thought I'd really hurt him
Thankfully, he seems fine. They were pushing their treat ball around not long ago, he ate his tea with his usual enthusiasm and now he and Molly are drinking the water bowl dry.
I think I need to adopt the dodgy walk

Re: Free ranging rabbits.
Oh dear! My rex trio circle my feet lots when it's food time and I sometimes trip over them I once stood on Vince's paw by accident, but he did forgive me. Pretty much like I forgave him when he bit my bare toe by accident

Re: Free ranging rabbits.
Junior seems fine today
He did a mahoosive yawn and stretch, so his side obviously isn't sore! He ate his breakfast and then hopped down the stairs no problem!
Phew

I am sure he will be fine love; I have been tripped up many a time, especially when I had the three bunnies. I am sure he will be fine.

I'm so glad all is well this AM with the little guy. I'm always careful with my motorized wheelchair and I'm terrified I'll run over him. It alone weighs over 100 lbs.
