Cable protectors.
What do you guys buy to protect cables from bunny teeth? And where do you buy it from?
Molly and Junior can't get to the electricity cables but they've chewed through the wire from my house phone to the BT box
We have black rubber strips at work to avoid trips, but I'm hoping there's something more discreet out there!
Thank you!

Re: Cable protectors.
We've tried the 'discreet' (look nice, wrap close against the cable and nice and flexible) ones on the laptop cables, however she bites through them like paper. gives you a few extra seconds to spot that she is eating the cable but they certainly don't stand up to bunny teeth
I got some 'heavy duty' ones off amazon for the speaker cables, they are about 30mm wide (speaker cables are about 20mm thick so normal cable protectors wouldn't fit anyway) and the plastic is about 1.5mm thick. They look rubbish and are not very flexible, however she has not yet managed to chew through or even damage them.
If the cables are on the floor the best solution is probably trunking, which I think you can get from B&Q.

Re: Cable protectors.
We use 'cable Tidy's' http://www.amazon.co.uk/JML-Cable-Tidy-metres-Black/dp/B0001PY4FG you can get them a lot cheaper if you shop around or look online and more of it.
and in my office I have cable tidy's from somewhere like Poundstretchers and I have a Cable Tidy Unit from B&Q http://www.d-line.co.uk/cable-tidy-units.php
or you can use hose pipe

Re: Cable protectors.
Hudad uses stuff like this at work and it's proved Gizmo and Layla proof. There's load of different sizes available too from 25mm x 25mm up to about 150mm x 100mm
Trunking
Much cheaper than the domestic equivalents you get ripped off with. It's proved completely bun proof too.

Re: Cable protectors.
They have a slit down one side, so you open the slit and pop them in. Some I got came with some plastic device you use but I could never figure out how that worked so I've always done it manually. You can fit more than one cable in them too, which keeps them tidy. It's just a bit of a pain if you then have to unplug something

Re: Cable protectors.
I will definitely be getting some of these protectors because the rabbit formerly known as Barley and now as B**t**d, has bust out twice and bit through the internet cable, the phone cable and partially chewed through the extension lead that my stereo plugs into.

I thought we had had a shortage of Norty buns this week, then two come along at onceNickieM wrote:I will definitely be getting some of these protectors because the rabbit formerly known as Barley and now as B**t**d, has bust out twice and bit through the internet cable, the phone cable and partially chewed through the extension lead that my stereo plugs into.
Are you wavering back towards Outdoor Buns, Nickie? Gizmo is a terrible indoor bun, as was Rosie. But Jack and Layla are positively angelic as long as there are no cables Layla can reach...

Re: Cable protectors.
I must admit I am very sorely tempted to bung them back outside! But today I am really tired as I was at a girls sleepover last night. Was up late, drank too much and came home to a mess!
Hopefully barsteward bun is contained. I have changed pens so he is in the lockable one and she is in the temporary Cube enclosure. She has already bounced out once so a roof has been put on now!
So need to get some time off, bond them together. Get them into their permanent enclosure and hope they keep each other occupied and entertained thus stopping their terrorist activities. Luckily my friend's hubby is a BT engineer so will be able to help me get the phone reconnected!

Re: Cable protectors.
Katie, the little sh** managed to break open the NIC Cube pen and was loose all night. During that time he: chewed through the telephone cable, ripped up a bit of my carpet (which is due to be replaced), pulled out all our board games and chewed some of the cards, pulled out videos from the bookcase. He is a holy terror!
The only good thing is that there were no puddles or poos - well any I've found yet! He is now in the pens I bought when I first got Sasha and Dave which are harder to get out of and I have remade the NIC pen and Sasha is in it.

So here they are for your delectation. He is a prize sh** but he is in maximum security for now.
