Emergency vibes for Dougal please U/D he's fine

Poor Dougal - Humum's just called Rosie and Dougal in for their tea, and the top of Dougal's ear is really badly torn and just hanging on by a bit. She's not sure how he has done it - whether he has caught it on something (although she can't imagine him doing that much damage), whether Roo has had a go at him, or whether one of the downstairs buns managed to get him through the mesh.

He's off to the vet's at 7.30 - she wanted him to eat a bit of tea first (and he seems completely unbothered by it, apart from the human contact side of things).

Humum's not sure whether they're going to be able to stitch it back or just lop the top of his ear off and close the wound

Typical - just because the Hu-parents were planning to go away for the weekend

Rudy had a bit of his ear missing, he thinks it makes him look all brave and warrior like ... so we let him think it. It happened in his previous home so I don't know how he got it.

I hope things go well at the vet for poor Dougal

Oh poor Dougal, I hope he isn't in any discomfort and they can save his ear. Not that it matters if he does lose it 'cos he will still be a lovely bun and I'm sure Rosie won't notice. Healing vibes for Dougal

He's fine

It's only the tip of his ear and the vet is happy that it will dry up and drop off without human intervention. Humum just needs to keep an eye on it and make sure there are no signs of infection (it's only the at the top of his ear, so he'll just look a bit wonky. Humum thought he had been traumatised enough without taking a piccie of it.)

This is good news for Dougal I'm glad to 'ear he is going to be alright

I just saw this. Sending vibes for a complete and pain free recovery. Perhaps his ear will grow back like a starfishes arm does.

Maybe he was just jealous of Poirot's nick.

The Hu-parents have got back from their weekend away - Dougal's ear looks fine, no sign of infection, but he's a very timid guy so it's going to be weeks before he's willing to talk to Humum again

Awwww. Poor Dougal. Poor Humum. I'm glad the ear is progressing well and i hope he forgives her soon.

I can imagine! It seems him and Jeeves have planned the cold shoulder together.

So sorry I missed this - I've been away and just now catching up. Hope Dougal is now back to normal and has forgiven his Hu-mum

I think Humum has been forgiven... it has taken a lot of bananana chips though

Dougal's tatty ear is still nice and clean and healing up fine, and I swear he now has an extra swagger in his hop
