May I have some advice please?
Hello friends
I am probably being a big old silly billy but I just wanted to run something past you.
As you know I have a baby bun Binky-Boo. He has been everything I wanted in a bun but he seems to be changing and I wonder if anyone else had experience of this.
As little as two days ago, he would come and sit on the sofa beside me. He either cuddled up to me, sometimes perched on the arm snuggling up to me and at other times a little way along. He is always in his relaxed pose with little feet out at the back which I am overjoyed about. However for the past two days, he won't sit with me at all, preferring the floor. This morning he had jumped up by himself and when I sat down, after investigating me and taking a treat he left the sofa completely. I know they are like us and have mood swings and don’t always feel the same every day but I just wondered if anyone else has anything similar.
This is going to sound really petty, but I am very upset about it. We haven’t done anything differently and it is so sudden. Can anyone make any suggestions please?
He still sleeps on my bed and will cuddle up sometimes although not as often as he used to.
Many thanks for your time.
Hugs

He is just growing up and enering the tee phase! I got all my buns close together so experienced it with four buns in the space of two years and it was a pain in the bum! But once they are neutered (not sure if binky is yet or isnt) and then calmed down from that ,and then grown out of the teen phase he will be more like his old self. x

Willow was a really cuddly baby too Jo, and then she hit 4/5 months old, her hormones kicked in and suddenly it all stopped. When I first got her she too would always sit and sleep next to me, and she would be held all day for cuddles. Now she is a year old and although still a really friendly bun who loves a fuss, she wouldn't dream of letting you pick her up, and she is very selective about when she sits with you.
It's horrible isn't it? Don't feel sad. He's just growing up, and like SarahJane said, once he's neutered and his hormones die down he may go back to his old ways

Re: May I have some advice please?
Defo hormones kicking in there. Once neutered the standoffish behaviour should sieze. My bucks were already approx 6 months when I got them so I don't know what they were like like as babies but now they do like a fuss. Vince is a tart and loves his head rubs and fuss, Boo is friendly in his own little way but neither are cuddle buns. My rex sisters were 5 weeks old when they came to live with me and were the sweetest things I had ever seen. Hermione changed the most, she really went cold towards me, but once spayed, she warmed up again but neither are the same as they once were.
It's just the way they are. It would be lovely if they stayed all cuddly and cute but mine didn't so when they do allow me a cuddle it is a treat for me. At the vets though, they know I am their security blanket and I do feel they look to me for comfort so I make the most of it

Re: May I have some advice please?
Well, what lovely comforting messages, I love you all so much for your kind answers.
I am going to have him neutered very shortly and I suppose then it is just a question of waiting. They don't owe us anything and as a couple of you kindly say, he is growing up and getting into his teens.
No two buns are the same, I appreciate that and I am very grateful for your different experienes in this matter.
I will be giving updates anyway and so I will let youy all know how he is getting on and once again thank you so much for your friendly advice.
Love and hugs

Ah, the lovely 'teen' years. Puberty hits buns just like it does hoomins. After a neuter he will calm down. Be happy he is developing well and happy!
