Gabriel and new ladybun Spring
It's been a while I know since I showed my face here but I thought any Gabriel fans may like to know he now has a new ladybun in his life.
After sadly losing Noo in May it has been a bit of a rollercoaster ride to find a new partner for Gabriel. At the fourth attempt to bond him Gabriel is now happily settled with Spring who has come to us from the Society for Abandoned Animals in Manchester. I can't thank the staff and volunteers there enough for their help, understanding and for carrying out the bonding.
I did have a bit of a stressful time when Spring and Gabe came home as Spring went off the idea of grooming Gabe. He was desperate for her to do so and with her refusing he reverted to being a hump monster in an attempt to show her he was in charge. Although there was no aggression between them there was no togetherness either and I started to worry as my first attempt at bonding Gabe had failed because of this. Gabe lost interest in, and then patience with his first potential partner, became obviously miserable and stopped eating at one point. Because of this in an attempt to help him and Spring I started to use some of the Bach flower essences in their water (actually in the main brandy ) and the vet had given me some Zylkene to try too. I couldn't bear for this bond to fail too and have to take Spring back to the rescue. It was so wonderful then when I came home one day from work to find this.
Maybe it was the brandy, or maybe they just needed time - either way I was overjoyed and since then they have become a couple, not just two buns sharing a space
And this is a face to Spring's bottom!
And with Gabe sharing tea
Spring is soooooooooo pretty and one again I am staggered by how these wonderful creatures so quickly find a way into your heart. She has settled in beautifully and after being a very quiet bun at the rescue has really come out of herself. She has mastered the cat flap, the runaround tunnel and has been binkying around on the grass. I will draw a veil over the digging that she has done in the stuff masquerading as grass Gabe too seems to be enjoying life more which is so good to see and is a lot more enthusiastic over his food, is less grunty with me and has even cut down on his escape bids. I suspect that this is because Spring is happy to explore with Gabe and keeps him more occupied than Noo did. I am so so happy that this has worked out for Gabe and Spring, I hope Noo approves of her.
Hopefully, now that I have more free time after the summer madness I can catch up with you all again.

Re: Gabriel and new ladybun Spring
Oh Im so happy that Gabe has a new love in his life after the sad loss of Nia Noo. It was only yesterday that I was thinking about Gabriel and wondering how you both were doing without her.
And what a pretty girl she is - an absolute stunner! She seems to be just what he needs.
Congratulations Gabriel. x x

I am so glad Gabriel has a new partner. And Spring is so pretty. Bonding is so stressful for us owners.
