Phoned up the vets...
I phoned the actually surgery where Hector would be getting neutered and they said that the earliest they do them is 4-5 months, which is great because that's 16 weeks! He'd go in, in the morning then they'd phone me afternoon time to let me know how he is, and when I can pick him up. As for pain meds they'll give him an anti-inflammatory injection before he leaves, but they won't give me any pain meds to take home unless they think he needs them. I've got a box of critical care sachets, and I'll get a snuggle safe a bit closer to the time, is there anything else you think I'd need, or that you would recommend I have just in case?

We have a few medicine syringes dotted around, but I'll get another supreme one when I order Hector's food

Re: Phoned up the vets...
When you start him on veggies, start with herbs, like mint, dill, basil etc. Obvs only one at a time, but those are the foods that have got all my buns eating after a neuter Dill is especially good, as its supposed to be an appetite stimulant. I never bothered with snuggle safes, unless they were outdoors, but theyre always handy incase theyre poorly.
You dont really need a lot, cosy fleeces, food and a water bowl are the most important things. You sound like your more than prepared

I was going to start him on herbs because that's what most people seem to have their buns on

Re: Phoned up the vets...
I find if i need to give my buns any meds, I syringe the measured amount into a mini /bitesized shredded wheat. They scoff those down, even when feeling unwell/post spay. I'm sure Boo poked his own eye out just so he could have pain relief meds on a shredded wheat
