Panacur liquid
I wonder if anyone can advise me here?
The tubes of paste of Panacur cost £7 each, but I just read on an archived forum elsewhere, that you can buy the Panacur in liquid form which is a whole lot cheaper. Does anyone else do this who have multiple buns? I know I would have to give exact measure doses, does anyone else do this?
Thanks

Re: Panacur liquid
You want the Panacur 10% liquid.
100ml is £15.18 on Vet Uk and you don't need a prescription.
The dosage is 0.2ml / kg.
Definitely a lot cheaper for dosing multiple buns

Re: Panacur liquid
So it is safe for me to do so then? I can weigh them no problems, just trying to maintain a good level of care without it costing so much.

Re: Panacur liquid
Completely safe
It has the same active ingredient as the paste, it's just that the liquid has not been through the expensive process of being licensed for rabbits. Many people with multiple rabbits use the liquid and I have never heard of any adverse reaction to it.

Thank you. Just wanted to check I wasn't doing anything bad for my buns.

Re: Panacur liquid
Even if you have a couple of buns the liquid is often cheaper. You can get it from Mole valley farmers and other country stores. The advantage of it is that you can give an accurate dose for your buns' sizes. It is £15.18 from Mole Valley as well. http://www.molevalleyfarmers.com/mvf/store/products/panacur-small-animal-10-oral-suspension-100ml

The liquid is I find a lot easier to give to the buns so you can you can be fairly confident they get the correct dose. I usually end up with the paste everywhere, it makes a right mess on clothes!
