The boys are 5 n half months old, just a few questions i need advice on.
Firstly have they finished growing? they are so tiny less than half the size of the lops, not that im complaining lol but just wanna check thats the size they should be.
Also i should be thinking myself lucky but they havny tried and hump each other etc they get on so well tehy really love each other. Just woundering if this is normal as lily and rose by about 3/.4 months were doing this the same as my friends lion/lops. Havnt had lionheads before only ever lops and larger buns. i ask because i want too get them nutered but it dosnt seem a must at the moment.?

Thanks in advance guys, Michelle x

Bruce is a fairly normal sized Lionhead and he is currently overweight at 1.7kg. He should be closer to 1.5kg. I would get on and get yours neutered before any problems start to show. Once they start fighting you will be unlikely to be able to stop them.

Yep - best to get them neutered before they do start humping as this could well lead on to fighting. If their bits have dropped then they are ready to be removed Smile

My five lionheads are 1.8kgish apart from BJ who is very solid and is just over 2kg.

Hey guys, just too update, poor boys couldnt get nutered i booked them in dropped them off and whilst out walking the dogs got a call from the vets too say they couldnt nuter them because snows hadn't droppedd and flakes were too small. They also said that they were both very small, which they are they are like minatures bless them. Poor babies. they told me too wait another couple of months. No signs of any behaviour change so just gonna keep an eye on them for now. fingers crossed by january i can get them done. x

Oh is that Snow and Flake at the bottom of her home page?

Lionheads can vary in size, we have 5 lion head crosses, and then 1 full lion head called Kenzo. Kenzo I would say is medium sized and very very fluffy and is a rescue .

Kenzo

Pure bred lionhead should not be bigger than 1.7kg (according to the brc). They can often appear bigger than they are due to their fur. Here are the brc standards http://www.thebrc.org/standards/F11-Lionhead.pdf

Very few lionheads that you see would meet breed standards. Most would have too thick/too thin fur. Have too fluffy ears or be slightly too big.
