Hector almost got a wifebun today

I've never fallen in love with a rabbit I've seen in a pet shop before, until today! I went to pets at home to get some carefresh ultra, and they had the most beautiful, jet black baby rex/mini rex girl in there. I almost couldn't leave her there, she was so stunning, I'd never seen a rabbit so dark before, she was just gorgeous

It was horrible leaving her there and knowing she'd probably end up shoved down the end of a garden in a too small hutch, unloved. If it wasn't for the fact that I have nowhere to keep her until she's spayed, and that my parents would murder me I'd be back there now getting her.

It is awful isn;t it love? I fall in love with all the bunnies I see and would love to bring them home but..... Is there anyway you can get round your parents and find a little extra room?

There's no way, I had to beg and plead to get Hector, plus when the time comes to get him a wifebun I want her to be a rescue, someone who would benefit from his confidence and easy going nature

As sad as it is for that poor girl, by buying pets instead of rescuing them you're only encouraging the trade to continue, and another bun would take their place I'm sure almost immediately.

Try not to be disheartened, at the right time the right bun will come along, and when you do rescue you'll be saving two buns instead of one

Hermione and Easter came to me at 5 weeks and they were tiny with HUGE ears! Very sweet

I know the feeling, hence I have Willow

But it is true, rescuing is far better. It is helping out a needy bun instead of spurring on the pet breeding for shops... and I can tell you out of buying Willow and rescuing Mojo, though I love them both loads, it has been a far more rewarding experience with Mojo
