Readigrass question..
My Bella & Flopsy are not that great of hay eaters but their partner's are but they are both dental bunnies. They will occasionally nibble a strand or a few but they are not the best of hay eaters.. was just wondering if i got readigrass and mixed that in the hay will it most likely encourage them to eat the hay?? :?
have not got any readigrass but will order some if its any good. I heard it is high in calcium but i would only be giving it in small amounts along with their unlimited hay in their hay racks and litter trays

Re: Readigrass question..
We use a lot of redigrass and I find a lot of our buns and the boarding buns love it, we just sprinkle some over the hay, and some dried herbs always go down a treat to like Plantain or Dandelion sprinkled over the hay.

Yes we buy the big bag as it works out a lot cheaper than buying a small bag especially if you have a few bunnies

Re: Readigrass question..
I also buy the big bag. You can get it from most country stores and horse suppliers. There is another product called 'just grass' (I think) which is pretty much the same. But don't buy the Badminton ultragrass as it has added oils in it.
My pair go mad for hay. I get them the hay for pets ings hay and then mix in some excel herbage, readigrass, oat hay or timothy hay. I think feeding a mix really makes a difference for them.

Re: Readigrass question..
I was thinking it might be worth getting a small bag to try if they've never had it before. Then you're not stuck with a giant bag if they'll not eat it!

Re: Readigrass question..
I thought I'd get them some, although we are currently lacking in storage, so I'll need to think.

Re: Readigrass question..
We get ours from a horsey place for £11 and 1kg tubs of dried dandy that they have sprinkled on their grass, they can smell it a mile off. They don't have con you for bunny size when you can buy horsey size a lot cheaper.

Re: Readigrass question..
My buns also go mad for Readigrass. I think feeding a mix of Readigrass, herbs and hay together may have a great effect on them and their hay consumption
I feed it to my fussy chinchillas as a hay substitute and even THEY love it. And believe me, they are FUSSY!

Re: Readigrass question..
Are you after a 15kg bag? PetPlanet usually have it but are showing as out of stock.
I know we had trouble getting big bags earlier in the year as there was a shortage due to the rain, apparently...

Re: Readigrass question..
My two love the stuff as well, I just sprinkle it and mix it in with their hay to make it a bit more exciting. I find they can't have too much though because it makes them drink lots more than normal.
