Jenna's being very naughty indeed.
Hi guys
I need a bit of bunny help please.
Both of my rabbits are indoor rabbits and have been very good not chewing anything, untill now .
It's not Jason though it's jenna she's just started crewing anything she can get her furry paws on.
She chews the carpet, the hutch legs,my chair and is even stripping the paint off the wall!.
It isn't because she's bored because she's got masses of chew toys, rattles, tunnels, boxes,a dig box,etc to play with.
She also has lots of room to run around.
I think she just enjoys doing it but I wouldn't say the same for my poor furniture!
That's why I'd thought I'd ask you guys for some help as some of you have indoor bunnies too.
We've already tried some stop chew stuff from pets@home but It didn't work,
we've also tried dabbing vinegar but it proved unsuccessful!!
And we've also tried telling her off gently when she does it but she just has one look at us and carries on .
Is there anything I could buy or make that I could spray on the places she's chewing which bunnies dislike?.
Please I just want to wake up in the morning knowing my stuff will still be there .
Many thanks .

Re: Jenna's being very naughty indeed.
I've never come across any sprays that will work, but hopefully someone more experienced will be around soon! Amusingly my OH ended up gassing me and my OH with bitter spray when he rubbed all the hair off the sofa where I'd been spraying to try and stop Nibbler from chewing!
I think the only way to stop the chewing is by blocking with something else you don't mind getting chewed. A firm 'no' will stop Nibbler in the majority of cases, sometimes just standing up makes him run away as he thinks you're going to remove him from the situation.. occassionally I have had to actually drag him away from whatever it was he intent on chewing. But yeah, blocking has been the only way I've found!

Re: Jenna's being very naughty indeed.
I don't have any suggestions, sorry!
Hope someone can help. I feel your pain with two chinchillas - they are like chewy buns on acid! Luckily, they don't live in my bedroom so they can destroy the spare room skirting boards with less impact on me

Re: Jenna's being very naughty indeed.
If you are around a lot of the time when she is doing it, you can try moving her away and giving her an alternative. If she is chewing, find something she loves to chew to give her. If she digs the carpet, give her a dig box or an old phone book. You can even try showing her that you want her to dig at the phone book instead of the carpet.
None of that will work though She doesn't understand the difference between the skirting board and her chew toys.
The only way to guarantee she won't destroy anything you don't want her to is to make sure she can't get at it, or live with a rabbit-styled shabby-chic decor.

Re: Jenna's being very naughty indeed.
Thanks for your advice .
I've tried putting cardboard over where she chews but unfortunately she just pushes it out of the way .
She already has a dig box and I always give her my old phone books.
Thanks anyway .

Re: Jenna's being very naughty indeed.
Is this something she has just started doing? We had this with Daisy - we used olbas oil and also if he chewed something we said gently but firmly "no" and moved him away from the situation.
We didn't shut him in or anything because we didn't want him to see a particular place as punishment, but we did remove him from what he was doing.
