They have me at my wits' end.
My pair are a nightmare right now.
Toffee has taken to digging in the litter tray again. They constantly pee on their bed. There is poop everywhere. Any poop on their bed becomes mushy as they pee on it, then stand on/sit in it.
And I'm struggling to keep on top of the cleaning
I worry that I'm going to have to confine them to quarters more often, but I don't want to do that.

Re: They have me at my wits' end.
I can't think of anything in particular, nothing different to usual. The front room is a disaster zone. I just can't keep up.
Re: They have me at my wits' end.
We have loads trashing, Rosie and Murphy drive us mad within seconds of you cleaning them out and giving them a whole clean bed...they have trashed it A few of our boarding buns are the same, they seem to poop and pee anywhere but the very large litter tray I guess they can smell the other bunnies and yet we always disinfect the floor with diluted Virkon to deter this. I think it must be a 'time of year' thing again as it can't be lack of toys or litter trays as they all have loads of toys and two litter trays, one in their hutches and one in their play pens.

Re: They have me at my wits' end.
What do you have in the litter tray? Layla was a digger when we just had megazorb and hay but Humum started putting a thick layer of newpaper on top of the megazorb / under the hay which stopped her. It seems to have (mostly) broken the habit. They also made sure she had a deep underbed storage box so even if she did dig, it kept most of the mess in the box.
Do you have any vet bed? I would put a litter tray where their bed usually is, then put a bit of vet bed on top of their bed in a new location so at least if they pee on it the top stays dry.

Re: They have me at my wits' end.
They have the wood based cat litter in their litter tray, with hay on top of it. Wherever there is hay, they pee in/on it. They have a very deep litter tray, but she must really be flinging it about.
I got rid of their vet bed as they couldn't be trusted with it - the pee was going straight through onto the floor and has stained it in places.
They currently have a cushion that is meant for a dog travel crate. It is soft for them, dries quickly and has waterproof backing so it doesn't soak through to the floor. It's the 3rd type of bed we've tried.

Re: They have me at my wits' end.
Ted and Toffee had 2 large litter trays here (well potting trays) the litter tray in their bed was changed every day as it was soaked as like you said they pee on it but the other litter tray was dry and they kept it clean it's as if they widdled in one tray and kept the other for eating hay off and I have noticed a lot do that . Sometimes they had trashed the newspaper in the indoor cage and in their litter tray in the indoor cage but not every day.
I gave them a piece of vet bed and the did a little pee on it and I changed it for another piece that was clean so they wouldn't smell the other and do another pee on it and they kept the other piece clean.

Re: They have me at my wits' end.
I've tried them with 2 trays before, especially after it had worked when they were with you, but they just peed in them both after a couple of days (and on their bed for good measure).
And it seems that whatever I put in for them to sleep on, they pee on it. They didn't at first with this one, but then as time went on they started to more and more, and now as soon as I put it back in again after washing it they have peed on it again.
Someone told me rabbits were clean animals

That's how I feel about Hector peeing on my bed, it's irritating because I look at pictures from when he was a baby of him on my bed, I just want to be able to cuddle up with him instead of sitting on the floor all night

Re: They have me at my wits' end.
I understand how annoying this is - my two are extremely messy, added to that I have a pair of messy guinea pigs and a pair of super messy chinchillas to keep on top of every day. And the buns are in our one spare room, and the pigs/chins in the other - and the rooms are just ruined
Unfortunately I think it comes with the territory of having small animals. I know some are very clean - Willow used to be, until she met Mojo and now feels the need to leave droppings everywhere constantly and be all territorial - but loads just aren't. I think Sparky has given you some great tips, and just try and think of all the fun and love they give you - then maybe they won't seem such a burden.
Zo, I've been there before. Don't know what to suggest - it's horrible
Hope you are okay Sue. Here, to you.
