Just want some second opinions Empty Just want some second opinions

I came across this picture on tumblr, I clicked back to the girls profile and told her she needs to groom her everyday, and she shouldn't be on wood shavings because they can get caught in the fur and cause matts, I also said that it look like there are some matts starting on the tips of her fur. She generally doesn't look great:

Though it does seem that she's had this rabbit only a week, and that picture is posted the day/day after she got her, this is more recent:

Looks like she may have been brushed but I can still see shavings in her fur, thoughts?

hmmm it does look kinda matty in places but could just be the way the fur is,
my parsley has the tendency to get furry but grooming him regular helps but he's an indoor bun i'm not sure if the one in picture is an indoor bun he may just be in for pampering.
sawdust again if the bun is kept and groomed well it may be ok again my parsley has sawdust and hay and seems fine Smile

She does look better in that second picture. Some buns never really look "groomed".

I groom my Mojo fully every day and he will look like I didn't touch him 2 minutes later - she looks like she has a lot of coat like him.

Just keep an eye on it maybe - but who knows, she may have helped her out of a bit of a bad situation Thumbs Up

Good call Zo Thumbs Up

She definitely looks like a bun who would benefit from a bit of help grooming. Also wood shavings should not be used because most of them can cause respiratory problems in rabbits - I think they are commonly pine, which is a bad one. Some woods are ok (aspen is one, I think) but these are not usual in a pet shop bag of 'wood shavings'.

Cedar shavings are very bad also because of the aromatic oils.

Once the little guy settles in his self grooming may improve too.
