The things that can't be cleaned can always be put away and, hypothetically, given back to buns once they have a nice strong (and hopefully not at all hypothetical) bond Thumbs Up

Ok. I'll do that. She has a nice big box in the living room that she likes so I'll just take that away. I picked up some tunnel boxes today from work, one is about 6' long and one is 4' long. I'll save them with the hay tunnel.... hypothetically speaking.... of course Smile

We had a box like that, OH's golf clubs got delivered in it and Thumper loved it. I had to hide it in my car when my flat was up for sale Laughing I didn't dare chuck it out!!

Looking forward to hypothetical updates Smile

So, hypothetically speaking... if we had a speed dating appointment on saturday... what preparation would we need to do at home?

Temperance has her pen in the kitchen and the run of the living room when we are in.

All blankets washed
Box removed
All toys removed
Tent and tunnel removed
Living room hoovered
Pen cleaned out
Pen panels cleaned
Litter tray scrubbed... second litter tray bought? Its just a normal sized one and probably wouldn't fit two buns.

Anything else?

Sounds like you've done everything to help the bond along Thumbs Up

I am so pleased for you and Temperance. I think she now needs a hypothetical pep-talk to behave and be kind to her new husbun!

Sending lots and lots of luck to you both Hugs

Two things:

1) If there is anywhere that you think might smell a bit Temparance-y, I think you can make up a solution of white vinegar in a spray bottle and spray it on lightly to neutralise smells (I'm thinking the sofa and possibly the carpets).

2) Photos on Saturday afternoon Thumbs Up

Another question...

what do we do if/when we get them home? :/

When we are in Temperance has the run of the living room, so should they be allowed out to play or put in the pen straight away? I'm sure the rescue will give plenty advice but I want to be prepared....hypothetically Wink

The normal advice is to start small and extend out. So pen initially then slowly increase their space. This will minimise any territorial issues.

I would let them meet in your bathroom. That way it is neutral territory. Temperance may not be happy to see a stranger in 'her' territory straight away. This way you could see how they react to each other rather than the space they are in.

A 10% solution of biological washing powder used to clean with Will remove rabbit scent. Don't use any bleach because rabbits smell the ammonia and think it is urine.

They'll be meeting at the rescue and travelling home together (assuming she finds one she likes anyway!).

We have a spare room that Temperance has only went in a couple of times so we'll give that a clean and put the pen in there at first. The bathroom has no window but we could let them be in there for a while at first.

I am getting a bit hypothetically nervous :/

It sounds like a plan... apart from the nerves.

Temperance might surprise you. Jack was so in love with his first wifebun that we expected him to be tough to bond again - not a bit of it, he took straight to Layla Smile

Been this morning and bought a flat storage box for a new litter tray, a new duvet cover for the bottom of the pen and some new blankets.

Now just to pack up miss T and head off. Wish us some hypothetical luck!
