disabled rabbit
We have a French Lop girl with arthritis and possible neurological damage. She is just 2 yrs old, and we have had her a week. We are waiting for her previous vet to forward case notes and xrays to my current vet, and in the mean time we have ordered her some wheels. Does anyone here have experience with bunnies with little mobility? Has anyone used a bunny cart?
Re: disabled rabbit
Is the disability in her back legs as massage can help and a bunny cart is ideal if there is no feeling's in the back legs and for giving the disabled bunny some quality of life.
There are loads of video's on you tube of disabled bunnies in bunny carts.
This is a brilliant website for disabled bunnies info

Re: disabled rabbit
The disability is in both back legs. She has movement but cannot support herself. Her front legs are strong. Shes being bathed daily as she cant clean herself, and is prone to urine burns. She gets daily "walks" using a scarf as a sling, but is struggling. Shes taking metacam, and has cream for her urine burns and fucithalmic as she has sore eyes.
Re: disabled rabbit
Oh goodness - poor little mite.
I dont have any experience that can help but I am sending her lots of vibes and I hope things work out for her.

Oh Bless her I suppose with her being a big bunny she will struggle, I think a bunny cart would help her a lot I'm afraid that urine scald and dirty bottoms are common with a disability like this and she will need life long care with that, some people put nappies on them to keep them dry.
