Handheld vaccum cleaners
My Humum seems to think she needs a handheld vacuum cleaner. Somebun poops all along the perimeter of Jack and Layla's pen, and she says she is fed up of picking up poops every morning and evening but it's not worth waking James up for (plus he works hard enough at weekends )
She used to have a little wet-n-dry dustbuster thing but it was rubbish.
Can anyone recommend a handheld vaccum cleaner that is decent and will pick up rabbit poo? It can be wired or rechargeable.
I have pointed out that she doesn't have to pick them up at all, and eventually I won't even be able to see Layla but she's not impressed with that idea

I have the dyson one - it was pricey but it is brilliant! Sucks up hay and daisy poo with no problems at all.

I have the dyson one, it's very good and has replaced the normal one. Sometimes the spinning head can get blocked though, with hay and fur mainly

I have a little orange one, I can't remember what brand but it's useless at emptying, the hay just gets stuck inside.

Re: Handheld vaccum cleaners
Humum has just ordered one of these as recommended by Hudad.
I think she is hoping to convince him it is a power tool, which means he will insist on doing the hoovering

Is it me or does that ebay ad imply that there is no tools for the cleaner?

It *should* have the tools but no battery or charger, Hudad checked the model number with Makita

Re: Handheld vaccum cleaners
I am thinking about getting a handheld vacuum cleaner to hoover up my guinea pig's fleece - at the moment I sweep it twice a day and it is the most tiresome and thankless task!!
This thread has proven quite useful and I will refer back to it

Re: Handheld vaccum cleaners
I have had and got rid of 2 (upright) dysons because they just block with the hay. They did not impress me at all.

Re: Handheld vaccum cleaners
I have an upright dyson and its never blocked yet. I do make a big effort to sweep up before I hoover though.

I would love one too, they are so handy and you don;t have to keep using the main hoover.

Re: Handheld vaccum cleaners
We've just won a dyson one on eBay
When it arrives, I'm going to take the dust pan and brush outside and ceremoniously burn them*
*I won't really, but I'd like to!

Re: Handheld vaccum cleaners
We have a wonderful Bissel one that is on a stick handle of sorts so you don't have to bend down. The vac part comes off the handle too. Ours is dedicated to bunny poo and small bunny mess.

Re: Handheld vaccum cleaners
I think sometimes I could do with one of the hand held ones but they just can't keep up with me as there is sooooooooooo many stray poop's and hay with soooooooooo many bunnies, so I use my trusty Ewebank carpet sweeper, I wouldn't be without it
