flopsy is in stasis - UPDATE HOME!
Flopsy is poorly. I just went out to ths bunnies , gave flopsy his 0.5ml of metacam which he has twice a day for tooth root problems (he's been on it since may) . Put the egg cup full of pellets in their bowl for him and lily and he didn't come bounding over . I tried to hand feed him some pellets but he chucked them about but I managed to hand feed him six small excel pellets , he is also still shaking his ears and head. So i've brought him in mashed up some SS pellets til they were a liquid and have syringe fed him he kept trying to refuse , spat quite a bit out but I managed to get him to gave about 0.8mls (we don't have any recovery food ) his dental op was on Monday and all spurs were sorted also they removed the grass seed from his ear but he's just not right his previous dental last year the same happened . I'm so worried he'll go into stasis he's quite clearly in pain and his poo's are quite dark and small .

Oh gosh
I don't know what to suggest but I am sure someone will be along to give advice shortly.
In the mean time, I am sending Flopsy as many vibes as I can muster for him

Sending lots and lots and lots of vibes your way, I hope Flopsy is ok. I'm sorry I'm not more experienced to give any advice (I panick as soon as anything is slightly amiss with Nibbler), but I am sure someone more experienced will be along soon. Big hugs to you
Saying that though, if he's still in pain can you not contact your vet and ask what to do as he's in pain?

Re: flopsy is in stasis - UPDATE HOME!
I wonder if he might be able to have a slightly bigger dose of Metacam for a while - no doubt JC will advise if this is the case.
The head shaking might just be a bit of irritation where the grass seed made the inside of his ear sore, and just needs to heal up.
Lots of vibes for the little fluffster

Re: flopsy is in stasis - UPDATE HOME!
I would think Jack, like Sparky said Flopsy could be uncomfortable where they took the grass seed from and I think he would probably benefit from a higher dose of metacam, just see what they say at the vet's I will keep checking to see how Flopsy is so keep us posted

Re: flopsy is in stasis - UPDATE HOME!
Hope he is ok Jack - they will take wonderful care of him at Anton, they will have him fixed up and as good as new. All three of mine have gone there with serious medical issues, and Johns team have fixed them right up. The nurses there are really wonderful too a and I know hat when the are there they are in even better hands than my own.
Sending vibes for him.

Re: flopsy is in stasis - UPDATE HOME!
Hi everyone thanks for the replies. Went along to the vets we saw Jo and she listened to him and said his gut doesn't sound as good as it should be so he has been admitted along with lily to keep him company and he will be monitored and given the injections he needs (pain relief, gut stimulants) so hopefully he will be better very soon. I took along their 32L litter tray filled with hay so they had something to familiar with and they have lots of toys with them too

I know how worrying it is when they are in hospital but I know they are in brilliant hands. They have a special bunny unit and its just lovely.

Re: flopsy is in stasis - UPDATE HOME!
The vets rang earlier unfortunately I wasn't up to answer the call but my Dad did. Flopsy is still not eating by himself but's taking the syringe feeding and he's started to poo unfortunately they've got to stay another night . Is this stasis?
