Flicking feet
I've always understood that a bunny hopping away flicking out their back feet at you is telling you that they are annoyed with you.
I'm starting to wonder, does it only ever mean that? Nibbler has a habit of coming up to me when I'm going to the fridge (I wonder why ) and quite often I can give him a bit of veg, he'll take it off me and run away with it, but sometimes when he runs away he kicks his feet out at the same time. I really have no clue what I could be doing to annoy him and thought although there's a slim chance, could it mean something other than 'I'm annoyed at you'?
Has anyone else noticed that their buns do this at an odd time?? Or has anyone got any suggestions on what I am doing to offend him?

Re: Flicking feet
I think it is a combination of 'I am happy I have this veg' and 'Don't even think of trying to take it from me'

Re: Flicking feet
Maybe he means "you've had this in the fridge all this time and you're only giving it to me now?"

Re: Flicking feet
Oggie is really odd. If I come into the room and he's behind the door I normally have to shuffle in and he always runs off flicking his feet and then does a u-turn and begs for nose rubs
Perhaps Nibbler is just stating to you that this veg is now his veg and you're not to get any ideas of stealing it

Re: Flicking feet
I think Nibbler is letting you know that he has been given an inadequate amount of vegetables
Seriously though, I have no idea why he could be doing this. Willow shakes her tail lots when she has been given a treat/pellets/veg (any food that she loves) and I've been led to believe that tail twitching has a similar meaning to feet flicking - so maybe they are both just telling us to buzz off and keep away from their food?

Re: Flicking feet
thanks for all the suggestions, they've really made me laugh. It makes perfect sense when I think about it, as if you walk near where he's settled to eat it (which is usually right in front of the sofa) he'll run off with it again! Why he thinks i'll take it off him I have no idea as I've never dared to take his veg away from him, I don't think I'd be able to handle being ignored any more than usual

Re: Flicking feet
Rory has several foot flick maneuvers. One is the 'I shake the dust off my feet..." snub. Then we have the "oooooh! lookie what I have now!" when he gets something yummy.
And then he has a "that's OK anyway" sort of foot flick when he has tried and tried to get us to understand something he is trying to tell us. He acts happy when he does this one and will circle back to look at us.

Re: Flicking feet
Sometimes tail twitching can be through excitement but usually it is because they are annoyed.
I think the foot flicks are probably because not enough veg was taken out of the fridge!
