Thomas and Percys New Home Empty Thomas and Percys New Home

I've mentioned I think that I bought the goldies a new tank on Ebay. The Biorb was doing my nut in! Although it looked nice, it was never going to be big enough for two long term (originally I bought Thomas but he was lonely and hid all the time so along came Percy - my 3yr old niece named them btw not me!), and I had thought about getting the next size up but I was sick of the thing. They are impossible to clean, weird to look at and I'd had enough. I'd heard so many bad things about them and I thought "na it'll be fine", but it's not. They are probably fine for tropical fish, to an extent, but they are so limited with what you can do. I love planted tanks, but you can't plant in them! If you aren't picky and easily annoyed they are probably fine too!

But anyway the Biorb is now on ebay and Thomas and Percy are living in this. They probably think their luck is seriously in! The heater is only temporary, the light has only just gone on so its a tad cold in there. I just hope the light stays in position. I could not work out how to use the fittings supplied, so I used superglue on the outside of the hood and wire suckers Laughing

I've also moved it to the hallway, so I can watch it from the living room. It was in the spare room while I worked in there, but now it's a beauty room I felt I was neglecting them. I'm sure that they are much happier with a full planted tank :-)
