Peeing on himself - help please
okay im very confused, peanut has been back to his old self, putting weight back on, hes happier, had a vet check last tuesday and he said he looked 'the picture of health'
yet today, i go to the run, and hes lying with his legs out behind him like he does, but hes legs look ORANGE i pick him up and ALL down hes back legs, under his tail, under his tummy he is DRENCHED, and i mean soaking wet with urine....
is there anything other than E.C that could make him do this
do bunnies ever do this as a one time, no reason type thing or is this something to be very concerned about??????
he had 28 days of panacur, and he had 2 weeks of baytril too (for an infection in his sore hocks but was at the same time)

My old bunny Grover used to do this when he had water infections.

Re: Peeing on himself - help please
If he is leaking wee then it might be the result of damage done to the Central Nervous system by EC.
It can also be due to bladder sludge/calculi or a urinary tract infection.
I would ask the Vet to take a look at him again. I would want particular attention paid to his plantar reflexes ( abnormalities would indicate damage within the central nervous system- often a consequence of EC )
The Vet should also examine his bladder for signs of tenderness/sludge/stones.
A wee sample could be dip-tested to see if any sign of infection is present.
Please keep us updated

Re: Peeing on himself - help please
hmmm im definatly going to switch vets, somethign isnt right with him.
what with the sore hocks and the urine, something just isnt adding up.
ill take him monday morning, and hopefully the insurance will cover it but hes only been insured 2 months so it might not, but hopefully it will. if not it doesnt matter.
i read about bladder 'sludge' but i read that it comes out chalky and thick?

If you've been insured for two months & this is a seperate problem to before (Ie. Water infection) then you should be able to claim. Be prepared to have to pay up front though, been told that most vets are switching to make you pay and then its not them settling up with the insurance co's...apparently there have been problems recently with i/c's being rubbish. Its crippling me having to pay it all first though Hope PB is Ok XX
