My Birthday Weekend...
Apart from Friday being an utter disaster, Ive had a lovely Birthday. I made a weekend of it, as id have just ended up in a rut after Friday otherwise.
The cake was a disaster, but not a big deal after Friday, but i was gutted for Mum, as I know she went to a lot of trouble to get it. I asked for a cake with my bunnies on. She went to a "professional cake shop" and took photos of the bunnies with her (i didnt know about any of this until Friday) and asked for ot to have a jam and cream filling. Well the photos of the bunnies speak for themselves They look like wombles/dogs!! Marley, Dolly, Skye and Davie's bottom, as he was made to look like he had dug his way into the cake. Anyway, when we cut into it on Saturday, it wasnt a light sponge at all, there was no filling at all either! It was like a very very bad madiera cake, but didnt taste right She payed £40 for it too. I put the slice down with a bite out of it, and shes going to take it back. I dont know how she stays open with cakes like that, or how she thought she could even get away with selling that to us. Anyway, lots of pictures...
Had to add this in, as i think it just sums me up. This was taken on Monday. Never happier than when im with animals stinking of poo!
Me and my "big little brother" on our way in the car.
Hiding behind the biggest Naans i have ever seen in all my life!!! Dont worry we had 2 of these between 8 of us!!
Me, my Brother and my Aunty
Me and Mum
Cocktails at Tomek's house
And then after our walk this morning...
Jess and Rocky
Poppy wouldnt come for a photo, as she was too busy playing with her big pal, Scout!

Re: My Birthday Weekend...
Well, I'm glad there were some good bits to your birthday weekend!
Those naan breads are huge!
I hope your mum has some luck with the cake. What a disgusting way to treat someone who has just paid £40!!

Re: My Birthday Weekend...
It says it all when the most convincing bun on the cake is Davie's bottom
I'm sorry for both you and your Mum that it turned out so rubbish - I hope you get your money back and spoil yourselves with something else
I love the picture with you and the lamb, and the fact you are both smiling
It sounds like it turned out a good weekend in the end - I hope so

Re: My Birthday Weekend...
I am sorry about the cake love and was astounded that it had no filling. The only cake I have ever come across in the standard round type that is without a filling is fruit and but otherwise there is always at least jam.
I am glad you had a nice birthday and thank you for sharing lovely phots with us
Hugs

You are such a beautiful young lady both inside and out. I'm glad at least part of your birthday turned out OK and that your mom gets money back on the cake. Unsatisfied customers can shut a business down quickly.

Re: My Birthday Weekend...
They are lovely photos - I think these are the first photos I have seen of you Sophia so it is nice to put a face to your name.
I am so glad you had a lovely weekend - apart from the cake. I can't believe that there was filling
Saying that, when Chris and I married I asked for both layers of our cake to be made from fruit. We used the first layer at our wedding and when we came to cut into the second one several weeks later it turned out to be a butter cream/jam one. By that time the butter cream was rancid
I am loving the naan breads - have never seen anything like them before

Thank you It was a lovely night/weekend. Im not sure if we will be doing the Zombie thing in July, but it doesnt matter too much.
Im just gutted about the vet nursing thing, but im trying not to think about it too much.
I would be gutted if my butter cream icing went off Its my favourite filling!! What a shame

Re: My Birthday Weekend...
I love buttercream icing to sweets, I always put it in the middle of my sponge cakes, together with jam.
Trying to loose weight at the moment, I have joined Slimmers World, so it is a no-no and I love it LOL!!
