Neutering!
I've just drop Finley off to be neutered, very nervous for him! Have an appointment to pick him up at 3pm provided everything goes well.
Keep your fingers crossed for him please, I'm a nervous wreck!

Re: Neutering!
Thank you! The vets gave me more choice today which made me worry more. They spelled his name wrong and didn't ask me to bring any of his food (which i did anyway and made sure they took it)

Re: Neutering!
Surgery went fine and he is eating quite a lot apparently, however he has nibbled a little and had a bit of a bleed so they want to keep him in overnight. I have to call in the morning to see how he is and if i can pick him up.

Re: Neutering!
I'm glad it went ok. If you are a worrier it's probably better that they have him overnight, and the Collar Of Shame is no fun for a rabbit.
Lots of no-nibbling vibes for you to be able to pick him up tomorrow

Re: Neutering!
Thanks guy, i went to see him and drop off some more hay and food. He seems fine and is eating like a monster, saw some poops too.
He looks so sad in his little collar. He pulled a stitch out before so they are just making sure it doesnt bleed too much.

Boys always want to play with their bits
He'll be fine although I expect he'll be quite cross when his collar comes off!

Oooh that looks odd! Poor wee boy. Hope he heals up quickly and can get back to being a 'normal' rabbit again.

Re: Neutering!
I'm very proud to say the vets absolutely loved him, they said he was just like a dog! Really lively and interested in what everyone was doing and demanding nose rubs from everyone too
He seems to be a bit wobbly on his back legs since he got back, not sure if its the medicine or whether its just uncomfortable for him.. :S

Re: Neutering!
Probably just getting over the GA. It takes a day or so to get over plus he has the embarrassment of looking a total babe in that get up

Re: Neutering!
He was neutered yesterday morning. How long does it usually take to recover from the anaesthetic?
He is desperately trying to clean himself but obviously not having much luck with his baby grow

Re: Neutering!
All buns are different some are jumping around as soon as they are home some take a little longer. Then of course they like to sulk about it for a while, Marshall was mad at me for a good few days afterwards.

Re: Neutering!
Rory was neutered a few weeks ago and we didn't notice any difference in his appetite or behavior. He was zooming around as soon as he got home. When we tried confining him he kept jumping and lunging at the barrier which we thought was worse than just zooming. I'm sure you're little guy will be fine and go at his own pace.

Re: Neutering!
Is he any brighter yet?
If you think you could get the babygro back on him, I'd be inclined to give him a closely-supervised half hour out of it.
When Reggie was spayed she had to have the Collar Of Shame but was so desperate for a good wash that we gave her time out of it when we could be with her. All she did was wash thoroughly, the poor little mite
