Ice Pods at the ready Hoppers...it's going to get hot!

Just watching the news and the weather today is going to get hot and even hotter tomorrow and next week so make sure you have your ice-pods or water bottles ready in the freezer.

Ice pods were on offer at Pets at Home in the Darlington branch at £2.50p so don't know if it's at all branches but it's worth checking and buying a couple while they are on offer.

2 liter soda pop bottles filled with water 3/4 full then frozen is good as well. I am
ever so curious as to what you call 'hot'.

By hot in this country 26 centigrade. ( 79 Fahrenheit )

That would be WONDERFUL! Eventually retiring abroad is looking even more pleasant!

Oh I don't not with 31 rabbits we really suffer when it's hot at trying to keep them cool  
but then again I love Winter  

If it got that hot here we'd all have air-con so the buns would be fine

We have two air conditioning units in the boarding shed and one large one in the garage and sometimes that isn't enough
shed's can get so hot inside. We have fans on in the house in nearly every room and we end up having to switch them off
as it just sort of heats up the room more....believe me it's not nice  

Plus it's to hot to put them outside.

I could find ways to live with it. I love heat!! I'm permanently freezing so when most people are starting to get uncomfortable with it, I'm just starting to warm up

I agree, fans just seem to circulate hot air.

Dyson fans are amazing!! The air they put out actually feels cool. It's just a pity they're so blimmin' expensive

Oh those Dyson fans are suppose to be fantastic but they are really blimmin' expensive and we would need at least 6 of them

There's conflicting info on the whole freezing snuggle safes thing, Katie.

If I remember rightly, the manufacturers tell you not to but lots of people do it without issue.

hmmm Im suspect because we had an issue with a heatpad where it went all soft in places last winter....so I worry that freezing them might do something to it which might affect it in the winter.

however the manufacturer could just be saying that because they want to sell icepods!

Eek. Maybe it was down to the freezing. But maybe it wasn't...

Pets at Home don't do them on the website as I think they are discontinuing them as they are now doing a
self cooling mat which doesn't need to be put in the freezer the animal just has to sit on it and it cools it down.

This is me! It's nice to have warm feet for a change  

It's very hot here today we have every window open and fly screens pulled across on the windows that have them on. We have two cooling units on the go in the boarding cabin and Mike has just given big Snickers the French lop on holiday an ice pad as well as he is such a big furry boy.

Trouble is it's warm air coming in. For us it is truly horrendous even with two cooling units in the boarding cabin it can still get up to 22 in there and so Mike is back and forwards all the time trying to keep it cooler for them and changing ice pods. It's even worse at night. So we hate this hot weather we like it with a nice cool breeze for the buns.

It's official!! Molly and Junior hate icepods and frozen bottles of water.

Apparently they are evil. They are not drama queens at all!
