Vibes for me

  Vicky made me a nice toad in the hole (cook from frozen) mash potatoes aaannnnd some baked beans (that lurked in the cupboard)
after eating my dinner I started getting chronic pain in my stomach then rushed to the w/c and felt so ill I went to bed for two hours YEP a touch of food poisoning  
I could not understand it so we went through everything then found the small tin of beans had a use by date of end of 09 2012  

feeling a bit better now though

I suggest some tummy rubs , pain relief, metaclop and zantac

Oh dear Rob you are so unlucky as if you haven't enough to cope with pain wise you go and get food poisioning now

I know how you feel with food poisoning Rob, I got it really bad a few yeas ago in bulgaria, it was awful and the worse fod poisoning I have ever had. Hope yo get well soon, be exra careful with thiose use by dates.

How long was it after you ate that you got ill? Very FEW food borne illnesses act within 4 hours. Some take more than 24 to appear. Unless the can was dented or bulging it should still have been safe to eat although the nutritional value might be lessened. There was a report on the news a few days ago that said that canned food as long as it was stored properly and not damaged or bulging lasts many many years after it's use by date. Could you have gotten a virus?

much better thanks I think I was very lucky and only got a bit,
thinking back though if it does take 24 hours it could have been anything as I don't remember what I ate

I doubt it was the beans Rob, sealed tins will last years after the sell by date  

Hope you are feeling better today hun, food poisoning makes you think you are dying, I have had it.
