Buttercup's Tunnel....
The little monkey has dug a huuuge tunnel!
He has half of the aviary/shed, and both his side and Dan & Clo's side have little gardens attached to the front for extra play room.
Dan & Clo only bother going into their garden if they hear me coming and want food
Butters love his garden - he has always dug a bit, but this autumn he has excelled himself! When we built the aviary we used paving slabs and concreted between the gaps for the base (the aviary has been pretty much converted to a shed now). The gardens were added after, and we put a layer of tarpaulin about a foot down, as we get moles in the garden, and didn't want them tunneling up into the bunnies gardens.
Butters has a wooden car in his garden. He had dug a run underneath it. But as more and more earth was appearing in the garden every day (and he kicked a load into his living area) I opened the garden, lifted the car, and found he had dug down, chewed through the tarp, and tunnelled a couple of feet under the aviary!!!! So I had to fill the tunnel back in, and try to get the soil compact again so that he couldn't dig it out again too easily.
The weekend will be spent digging his garden out, lining the four sides with wood going down a foot, putting wire netting down, then filling it all in again so that he can dig without us worrying about him getting all the way out

Re: Buttercup's Tunnel....
Took lots of pics - his garden is now tunnel proof (I hope!)
Not sure he is impressed by it, though

Re: Buttercup's Tunnel....
Ha ha! Spring and Gabriel had started work on an underground extension in their run. Thankfully Gabriel has lost interest and Spring has given up too. She can no longer fit her bottom into the tunnel She has such a big derriere!
