Lodger Bun - revealed
Seeing as our little stray bun has been here for a week and not claimed, it seemed appropriate to finally post photos of...
Reuben: (because he is a little loppy-eared Roo bun )
He's a real sweetie and very people-friendly. He's been stuck halfway up the garden for a week and was always up at the mesh at the front of the run looking for attention from anyone who happened to be out in the garden. Or in the kitchen. Or Theo's room
He's been moved down to slightly more appropriate quarters near the kitchen door so he can get more human attention. Humum's still trying to avoid thinking of him as a Wood bunny yet, but she is considering getting him in for neutering next week. He is *cough* fully developed but not showing any real signs of hormones, not like Max and Mason have been. He doesn't really chin everything and we've never seen him spray wee. So Humum's backup plan, if her colleague decides not to take him, is to consider trying him with Theo who is also incredibly laid back, although this does go against everything she has believed in the past about bonding boy buns she thinks with the right boys it *might* just work....

About time too! He is gorgeous how could anyone turn him out?
It seems to me that you were saying that Reggie was reluctant to return to the garden...

Are they within scent of any does?Blackberry wrote:Adorable

We had a large group of buns, *thinks* four boys and five girls, and each of the boys gradually got bullied out of the group until we were left with The Quad (one boy, three inappropriately-named girls) and miscellaneous pairs. We'd been really put off having more than one boy in a group since, and probably still wouldn't in a group with a doe. But Anne McBride said at the RWAF conference that two bucks were actually likely to get on better than two does, as the bucks are less territorial and we have since heard of pairs of boys with very strong lifelong bonds. It's whether we can make it work with the scent of does around...

Re: Lodger Bun - revealed
So let me get this straight. Wood set ups are
Sparky (f) and Theo (Tiger M)
Jack (m) and Layla (f)
Gizmo (m) and Cindy (f)
Roo (f) and Dougal (m)
Potentially Max (m) and Reggie (f)
Poirot (f) Ronnie (f) Graham (f) and Smudge (m)
Mason (m)
Roobun (m)
Would Smudge give up one or two of his girls for Mason and Roobun?

I've added Poppy, who you forgot. (You forgot Poppy! )
We wouldn't split anybun up who has been together all this time, unless one of them wasn't settled in the group or for health reasons. But it's not just who is where, it's being able to give enough run space in the garden to everybun. Getting each pair a run of at least 6' x 6' and the quad one of almost twice that has been a logistical challenge. Humum insists on everybun's living quarters being down on the patio so that when there is 2' of snow on the ground, they are all in the same area not just for cleaning out but for 6.30am feeds in blizzard conditions etc.
The very top tier of the garden is now the only bunny-free zone, and Humum won't let Hudad put a hutch on the garage roof
We could accommodate Reuben if we needed to, one way or another, but it would be wonderful if he could go to a fabulous new home and be one of a spoilt pair in amazing housing

I didn't mean to forget Poppy. In fact I had meant to write her in next to Mason.
Now did I get everyone's gender right?

He is a little angel! I cannot imagine someone letting him loose. Poppy and Roobun possibly? Isn't Mason a rather rough and tumble bunny? Of course, I could be quite confuzzled.

He's not quite as young as he looks, Humum estimates about 18-20 weeks. Max and Mason still look quite babyish but must be 6 or 7 months now...Tuckerbunnies wrote:OMG! he's beautiful and looks very young , I think I am in love .....again

Mason and Poppy are going to be a perfect match. As long as the hu-parents can cope with the mayhemgentl wrote:He is a little angel! I cannot imagine someone letting him loose. Poppy and Roobun possibly? Isn't Mason a rather rough and tumble bunny? Of course, I could be quite confuzzled.
