Storm approaching
So, the storm is approaching in the Uk. I've had my bun 2 weeks and have no idea how how the hutch will hold up to the wind. It's tucked between the fence and the house so is sheltered, but I was worried the cover might become a wind trap. Yet without the cover, bun would get very wet.
So, tonight, I've cleared out the utility and bun has the run of it! He peed in the litter tray for the first time tonight, so I hope I won't have to rely on the wipe clean lino. He does love nibbling at the moment, but I'm always there to say no. I wonder what state the cupboards/skirting/doors/washing machine will be in! Out of sight is the pet carrier where he can snuggle up, and some hay. He has pellets and water in the bowl, and a new toy... Let's hope he doesn't destroy the place! Still, so long as he doesn't make himself ill, I won't feel so worried about him when the winds pick up.

Re: Storm approaching
We have been very lucky here in Cornwall, just rain and wind. My heart goes out to those who have suffered because of it.

Re: Storm approaching
Hi Sandie, how long was Humphrey indoors for? Did he enjoy it? And did he cause much destruction?! My outdoor buns (Patch and Daisy) loved the wind! It is quite sheltered in my garden so never gets too worrying.

Re: Storm approaching
First of all, my sympathies do go out to those who really suffered, through loss of life, injury or destruction.
I was very fortunate and saw no damage, and only had the inconvenience of no trains for my commute, which is nothing compared to what some people have lost.
Humphrey was indoors for just over 24 hours. He seemed to love it, and other than creating a mess with his bedding, he didn't destroy anything! His hutch survived just fine, so I know it is sufficiently sheltered for the future. However I also know that he will be ok in the utility for when it gets very cold :-)

Re: Storm approaching
He does have his moments...
I have various rabbit friendly things in my lounge that he is allowed to destroy, but the cable tidy is his favourite; I think he likes hearing me saying no to him!
