Vibes for Smudge please...

So, Humum got home with Theo and Reuben, settled them in and went out to give the outside buns a bit of sprinkly herby nom.

Smudge has a big open wound on his forehead    Humum suspects it is an abscess that has burst. He's had a bit of a lumpy forehead for a week or so but she thought it was an odd moult pattern, obviously in hindsight it wasn't and she is kicking herself. There was never any sign of a wound or missing fur there.

She left the vets at five and will be back in at 7pm with Smudge. She thought two or three trips a week was a bit much, let alone two in the same day   

Some vibes might help our timid little guy, please...

Aw no!! Poor Smudge I hope everything goes ok at the vet.

Tell your humum not to kick herself, she wasn't to know!!

And I'm sure I can speak for us all when I say we probably would have all assumed the same thing!

This spell of poorly bunnies at your warren has got to be coming to an end soon surely?

Oh no hun I am so sorry, another bun in the warren, I thought you where finally getting a break from them being ill etc  after Theo today.

Poor Smudge, I hope he will be okay, sending mega vibes and fingers and paws crossed here.

Oh and the others are right, it is hard to tell and I would have thought the exact same thing, same with anyone.

Smudge has had his abscess drained   and is on a course of baytril and pain relief. Humum has to keep it clean and make sure it is draining.

Smudge is going to just love all that handling...

Poor Smudge, glad he is okay though, your humum is such a star and very good at mending poorly bunnies so you are in good hands.

Oh poor Smudge, what a miserable time you and the Wood bunnies are having at the moment. Lots of soothing vibes coming Smudge's way. It is so hard when bunnies are 'hands off'.

How is Smudge?

He does look a lot better today. The swelling has gone down a lot   

He'll probably not be so happy after his meds - he'll sit there and take them like a good boy but he hates being touched. He does the keep-still-and-she-won't-eat-me thing rather than the wriggly-bun thing. Apart from the time he went off the table at the vets at 100mph, straight into the wall

I am glad he looks a lot better love but I am sending loving healing vibes.
