Agressive Smudge Empty Agressive Smudge

Ok so I thought I'd as you guys what you think... This is in regards to my mom's rabbit, Smudge.
I went to visit him the other day and I swear, he tried to bite my arm off Shocked I have always been Smudge's favorite (much to the annoyance of my brother) he has always been friendly towards me. He will sometimes growl at or nip other members of my family, but never me. So the other day when he growled, lunged, and tried to bite me on numerous occasions I was quite taken aback.

He has been neutered about six months now, and he's about a year old. He's always been a little fiesty but my mom says he's been really bad the last little bit. He's been eating, weeing, pooping and all that normaly. He's been running around as usual, like nothing is bothering him. Any ideas why he could be so agressive?? Thanks in advance Very Happy

I'd get him MOTd at the vets to rule out any health issue's, uncharacteristic aggression can be a sign of pain in a rabbit. If he is healthy then maybe it's boredom? Some new toys and treats may help win him round especially if you always come bearing goodies Laughing

I was thinking maybe a vet trip was in order Hmmm That's the thing though, I've never needed to win him over! He's loved me from the very start, he's only ever mean to my family Laughing Now he's being extra mean to everybody, the little stinker Rolling Eyes

I'll try some new toys with him, see if that helps.

seeing as it's a change in behaviour rather than him jsut always having been grumpy I would suggest a vet visit too, jsut to make sure there's nothing causing him chronic pain.

other than that i'd suggest a wifey bun and/or some more things to do. if he's destroying furniture (as well as arms) then maybe he needs his own things to gnaw on (although they'll always go to the stuff you want to NOT have big bunny bite marks in Smile)
