Anything other than vinegar?
Is there anything other than vinegar I can use to clean pee stains off litter trays?
As some of you may remember, I absolutely loathe vinegar, and I'm sick fed up of asking OH to do it for me
Scrubbing them with soap and water just makes matters worse in the long run because it leaves scratches in the trays for the pee to seep into
Any ideas?
Perhaps I should teach OH a lesson by replacing the trays frequently

White Vinegar is the best left overnight in stained litter trays but I know what you mean about the smell. The only other thing you could try is 'Astonish' oxy-plus Tea and Coffee stain remover' we use it for the bunny dishes if one has weed in their dish and it stains and it get's the stain off brilliant. You can use it on plastic and I am wondering if that will be any good. It cleans pots and inside flasks, china and metal and there is no odour and it's not tested on animals as it has the leaping bunny logo on it. It has a caution: Harmful and to keep out of the reach of children. It's brilliant on the inside of stained mugs .

Thank you Maysie I will look for some and will give the trays a good rinse before I give them back to Molly and Junior!
Vinegar is RANK!!! It literally makes me gag! Last time I tried to do the trays I came so close to throwing up in my sink I had to run out the back door and get some fresh air! Hideous stuff! *shudders*

I left white vinegar in the litter trays in our bath overnight and the bathroom just was smelling like a chip shop
People think I am mad when I say I hate vinegar on chips , and if I go in a chip shop for any fish and chips and they say do you want vinegar on it I go 'Oh God No' and they give me a look

I agree, vinegar is vile, ste likes it and it is awful, makes me sick too and the smell . I just do not get why people like it. I may try this too rather than vinegar as Dougals trays are pee stained and just cannot get rid of it. I had always wondered how to get pee stains off trays, the spray I use to clean and srcub it down with does not remove the stains.

Another one here who hates vinegar too. I believe boiling vinegar and then using in litter trays removes even heavy stains but Chris has said he will set up the camping stove outside to boil vinegar but I haven't dared to do it yet.
