What a lovely day :)
Humum went out today and had a lovely, lovely day with Dougal's Humum and Sixer and Sixer's buns
It was very warm and buns were mostly sleepy, but did agree to one or two photos from the paparrazi. At a price.
The incredibly handsomeBruce BJ:
The incredibly cute and fuzzy Holly :
(Rosie was in the shed and Humum did not want to invade for her photo.)
My hero, Gabe. Smile for the camera, Gabe:
'Right, I have done the smiling, now give me a sweetie'
Pretty little Spring, who refused to come out because her Humum said something about her big bottom
So the Humums had a brew and a natter about bunnies. Then Sixer made them hike uphill for twelve miles, apparently, in search of foragey goodness although all Humum came back with was a few twiggy bits of birch because she said a lot of it was mossy and not for nomming. Then they had another drink and a natter and watched Gabe and Spring who had come out into the run as it cooled down a bit. Humum admired their trench defences across the lawn but said Gabe didn't really do anything Norty in all the time she was there
And then before she knew it, it was hours later and she knew feet would be getting stamped in Darwen and Blackburn as teas were late, so they had to leave
So I think all the Humums had a lovely day, and mine was out of the house for over six hours so I did too

Re: What a lovely day :)
BJ not looking like Bruce at the moment as Bruce is looking very scrappy and miserable due to being in moult. This morning he looked like he had a wedge cut out of his fur where the moult line is. He had to have a big brush which you can imagine pleased us both.
Good to hear you had such a lovely day and that there were noms - because we all know that the noms are the important thing.

It sounds as though a lovely day was had by all
I do love Gabe's facial expression. It just wholeheartedly sums up his character!

OMG Gabe IS smiling! He's such a sweetie. All the pics are good. I'd recognize the handsome Bruce anywhere!
I'm glad the humums had a good time..
Just a clairification of Brit slang please. Brew=tea? Or coffee? Or as here in the USA a beer?

Re: What a lovely day :)
Awww you are so lucky to get to see Gabe in the flesh - although not having to chase him all over the garden was definitely a bonus! He is such a character and definitely one of the HH famous buns.
Hollie, a brew is just another way for saying a mug of tea. You have to let tea brew or stew before it is strong enough. In Yorkshire, they are famous for liking their tea as strong as an Irish navvy (you can check that out with Google! )
Vanessa, probably put the teapot on the stove in the morning so it would be ready! (Just joking!)

Re: What a lovely day :)
Ah, but I not from oop north! I originate from Northamptonshire where tea is not as strong as an Irish navvy.
It is an incredible pic of Gabriel smiling isn't it.
I have been a bit concerned over him of late. He is still eating enthusiastically and is binkying when out in the garden but for him is spending a lot more time sitting doing nothing or sleeping. After a mad session of chasing Spring in the run he quite quickly flops out after as if he has worn himself out.
I am hoping that it is nothing more than him starting to feel his age, he must be at least 7 sometime this year. I have noticed the trio have slowed down too, and they will be a similar age, Bj even 8. I guess I notice it more with Gabe as he has always been such a livewire.
I did mention it to the vet when I took Paddy on Tuesday and she suggested maybe trying him with metacam for a few days to see if this has any effect. Of course the bunny mind reading has kicked in since then and Gabe is not letting himself be in a position where I can catch him without either emptying the playhouse or dismantling the run.
He is moulting heavily too so I wonder if this is affecting him. I am not sure I want to inflict a stressy vet trip on him when the only real symptoms are a 7+ rabbit that is slowing down.

Re: What a lovely day :)
I agree. Moult and getting a mature bunny may be the reason. I would spare the journey if the is nothing more worry some about!
How is eating, drinking and pooing? Any changes?

Re: What a lovely day :)
He is eating and pooping fine. I just seem to see him more and more sat in the run looking 'miserable'. However I am sure he is not really miserable, just snoozing. I have to accept that like Chris and myself he is getting older

Re: What a lovely day :)
I would put it down to age and moulting hun. I think like any animal, including hoomins, we all slow down as we age and feel it. I think the moult and hot weather is probably a lot to do with it. It is hot for hoomins, so must be for the fluffs.

Re: What a lovely day :)
Id say age and moulting too. As you know Im a big beleiver in following your instincts on things, but if he is still eating and everything else looks ok, I dont think the vet would be able to have a start point really.
Id just keep an eye on him. Bless his little heart, im sending the king of naughtiness a nose rub.

Oh, they can act tired with a heavy moult..like shedding is work. The sunshine might just feel good on achy bones. Since he is eightish he might have a few after a binky session.
I wuv Gabe!
